Yeah, it feels like ODU is working harder than our admin to get us on board with FBS.
12 days and we will know, I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst...assuming July 2 comes and goes and we get nothing from the admin will make it seem and feel like Miami (Oh Yea!) and TARDledo worked harder to get JMU into a 1A conference than Bourne. I'll gladly eat crow all days, I can't shake the feeling that Bourne won't leave Yeager twisting in the wind short of President Alger pushing him kicking and screaming. I don't see or smell smoke and anybody hanging onto the AAC is on meth.
Not moving and defeating Akron would feel like salt being dumped into an open wound right before we all get pumped to play NEC programs in our shining expensive fcs stadium and see Appy, ODU and G South scores on our video board that costs more than every fcs score board in the country combined.
I would not put too much stock in July 1st being "The Day".
agreed but everyday past 7-1 begs the question, "on what are we waiting?" JMU has the CAA money and the Carr report has directional accuracy at the point.
Agree. As the days of summer shorten and we have no announcement moving to FBS, my interest in JMU sports will also wane.

I'll be surprised if JMU announces at all this year. It will be at the end of the Basketball season.
There it is, the next thread to hang on, after basketball season, if we can just wait until the end of basketball season...
I think we get an announcement in early July or JMU is not leaving the CAA now and never seriously considered leaving the CAA. In full tilt reaction mode, JMU issues a nebulous statement that the admin will continue evaluating the changing conference landscape and will be ready when (insert never going to happen event) happens.
I'm past anger, all I want in eleven days is transparency. Let me decide how and where I spend time and money. Maybe I would come home someday but if we get another CAA commitment in July I need a break from being disappointed by nearly every athletic decision made by the JMU admin.

I mean, I wouldn't be shocked if we didn't declare until after next June. I'm not saying it's the right thing, or that it's going to happen, just wouldn't be shocked.

Neither would I. I'm curious as to how severe, if at all, the damage would be from an alumni and donating standpoint. Something tells me JMU doesn't think they'll take too big of a hit when it comes to that.
The more time passes, the more I think we'll hear an announcement later rather than sooner.
The only thing is if we wait until June again, isn't this starting the spiral all over again (wait til July to receive conference money, then wait til June again only to wait til July... rinse and repeat)?
