CUSA Ball tourney @ UTEP
The 2014 BBall tournament is to be held at UTEP per CBS

I imagine Bham did not bid.

Didn't we already know this one was in El Paso? I thought Memphis and El Paso were the next two, but Memphis got it taken away, Tulsa won it, and then Tulsa did exactly what Memphis was doing in bolting for the AAC.

Yes. It was awarded just after the last tournament in El Paso.

CBS was really late to the story with this one.

I'm guessing it's going to be in Nashville from now on??? Maybe Birmingham will actually try to get it one day.

I'm guessing El Paso, Nashville, Charlotte and somewhere near ODU will all make a play at it. I also wouldn't be shocked if another area in Texas went after it, or the F_U's tried to bring it to Miami. I hope Birmingham gives it a go and occassionally gets the tournament in the future.

How many of these prospective sites have an arena that seats more than the 11,000 I have seen quoted for the BJCC? I would expect those with NBA teams would be favored in that respect.

For some reason I don't think they are that concerned about seating over 11,000.

Can Birmingham bid for the tournament without having the Alabama Sports Foundation do it?

Anyone can bid for it. Blazertalk can bid for it. Getting it is something different.
