USA Today Preview: Purdue
"By my count, Purdue opens with seven games in a row against FBS competition with BCS aspirations: Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Nebraska, Michigan State and Ohio State. It doesn't get any tougher than that."

RE: USA Today Preview: Purdue
Reading the Purdue preview , if I didnt see the 89, I would have guessed it was a 40-50 team, the preview sounds more optimistic than the number. Purdue might be one of those teams were it wouldnt be surprising if they ended up 30 or ended up 90.

kinda like seeing the NIU-PU game sandwiched between Boilers at Wisc followed by Nebraska after NIU...I think we are their homecoming opponent....payback is a concern however- at two levels : Kent's ex- coach and the MACC vrs Huskies and Kill's trickeration sealed NIU's W .

That is all thanks to us agreeing to move the game 1 week later and Wiscy scheduling BYU late in the season taking our original agreed to date.

We are a BIG game on their schedule, the Orange Bowl NIU Huskies are in town.... we will beat no one by surprise or they were not ready to play their best.

I think Myerberg has really underestimated Purdue in his rankings. With how much Kent loses, its hard to envision them ahead of Purdue.

Who exactly does Kent lose, besides their QB?

Who exactly does Kent lose, besides their QB?

Pretty much their entire offensive line and their best LB

Kent should have a down year relative to last years success.

They have the most explosive player in the MAC(Archer) and the best Dlineman in the MAC (Nix) they are still going to be a handful and should beat PSU as PSU has no experienced QB returing

RE: USA Today Preview: Purdue
Purdue is going to pretty beat up after playing Cincy, ND & Wisky; their 6th year senior QB will likely be injured again by then (penny) which means they will be starting a true Frosh. If NIU can't beat a team with a true frost qb I will be shocked

RE: USA Today Preview: Purdue
Of course Wisky is starting another new QB(although with some experience) but lost 3 to the NFL draft and a few more graduated. Still though Wisky should beat Purdue which means the Boilers will be no better than 1-2 and possibly 0-3 by the time the Huskies roll into W Lafayette.

Huskies are #23 according to the USA Today Preview Magazine. Top 25 was done by Paul Myerberg

That kind of kills the top 124 countdown drama haha. This NIU team this year in small ways reminds me of last year's Bobcats, with the strengths returning and pre-season expectations. Lets hope we don't follow the last year Bobcat script.

As a general rule, the faster you rise, the faster you fall.

Kent State may not lose 7 games, like they did two years ago, but I do not see them winning 11, like they did last year.
