Ouch...... The Interviewer was really BAD!

I learned nothing about ODU. But a lot about UVA LOL

Yeah, that guy was apparently a UVA fan and was more interested in talking about that.

I think I heard Jeff Lamp's name more than any current ODU player.

Seemed pretty good to me. Personally I think Jones comes off as a much more intelligent and knowledgeable coach than the perpetually giggling Blaine Taylor ever did. I predict he will do very well at ODU. What on earth do you people expect from the man only two months in and during the summer season? If he said he signed a pair of ambidextrous seven footers that can play down low and shoot 90% from three point territory, would that be enough? This Jones bashing is getting old.

Funny how people read into things what they are predisposed to believe. I'm still a Jones wait and see guy, but nowhere in these posts have I read anything remotely critical of Jones. I'm 99% certain the negative remarks were aimed at the interviewer, not the interviewie.

I actually thought Jones handled the interview very well. Was interesting and was engaging with the questions that were asked. I just wanted to hear more about ODU's future and how, what he will be doing to achieve those goals. Maybe information about recruiting targets and overall perception of what will be done to reach out to the recruiting targets in our future.

Just more about how ODU fits into Jones future and not the past history of UVA. No reflection on Jones, just bad interviewer from my perspective.

Which part of my post, which you quoted, was bashing? He can only answer what's asked. I had no problem with Jones. Debate is fine, but please make sure you've read the post you're quoting.

And if you think I've bashed him, perhaps you should go back and read the posts I've made here since he was hired.

I didn't take any of the above comments as bashing Jeff Jones. It seems like the interviewer broke the questions int two segments. Before arrival at ODU; youth, playing days, coaching experience, and post arrival at ODU. Since one of the two time periods is much shorter it makes some sense that it used much less of the time. Bicouvaris did mention that his reference was as a Mason fan, and someone who was also very familiar with UVA.

There really doesn't seem to be much new that Jones can say regarding ODU at this point. He can't really talk about Kah, or any other targets specfiically. I do get a sense that he will be much more prone to adapt style of play to the roster than BT was. I think for many, one of the most frustrating aspects of Taylor was his refusal to adapt.

I liked the interview... and I like Jones. I think he will be good for the program.

This crap is getting painful to read.
