RE: Why IN HELL WON'T SOMEONE TELL NIKE................
I just dont understand how GA can spend so much time on this messageboard when the shade of blue is incorrect. I cant believe he hasnt made a stand against it.

If you can't see that on AVERAGE, those shades of blue are much darker than the average royal blue which is being pushed onto Memphis fans, I can't continue to talk to you either. I also don't see any point in talking to those who cannot appreciate the importance and truth in such quotes as the following:
From UofM's Brand Standard Introduction:
Everything we do as a University impacts what people think of us. From what takes place inside the classroom to what they see on our campus - from a simple University handout to a full-blown recruitment campaign - it is all a reflection of our University's brand. Our brand is measured by what people know about us and feel about us. Much more than a logo, our brand is our image . . . it's our reputation . . . and it must be managed with great care.
I am pleased to introduce you to the University's new Brand Standards Guide. This document outlines the use of the University of Memphis identity to maintain the strength of our brand. The new logo treatments contained herein are a reflection of the outstanding institution we have become. They are unique to our University. Using them consistently will result in communications that build preference for our brand.
From a typical Internet article on branding:
When one thinks of 'brand,' the first thing that usually comes to mind is the visual elements. You want to make sure you're using your organization's logo, colors, typefaces, and other brand-related images consistently

Then can you explain why they have over 8 different shades of navy on their "Official" Athletics Store Page?

I don't see a single Georgetown shirt with a blue lighter than dark royal. Certainly, there are no Nike blues. The NCAA shirt doesn't count.
So it's okay if they show 8 different shades of blue in their official store, as long as none are as light as royal blue? Where does it say that in our brand standard document? How about the 6 different shades of gray on display?
And Georgetown's colors are supposed to be the same as ours. Except, as someone else pointed out, the Union and the Confederacy never had consistent shades of gray and blue.
I just think you're fighting a battle that no other university person in this country actually worries about.

speaking of the color of this message board, I was in a Foot Locker over the weekend and picked up (to look) a pair of Penny's Tiger Nike with the same color scheme as the background on this site. Nice shoe. Reminded me of the basketball jerseys we wore one year.
