Yeah a game three would have been iffy today anyway (for us if we had extended it to the finale) but que sera sera. That probably helps out UNC. I would imagine UVa and Mississippi State could be in trouble today too, weather wise.

K State got away with an exceedingly dirty slide into third on a force play in the B7, but Or State worked out of the game anyway. Now 4-1 OrSt with two on and one out in T8 (OrSt is away team). I'll see if I can get a bad pic of it.

And the KSU catcher who came in spikes up 2 feet off the baseline in the B7 just doubled to bring in 2 and now represents the tying run on 2d with two outs in the B8.

He was nailed at the plate trying to score on a single. How did THAT slide look?

The Beavers had two on with two out in T9, but the third out was a bunt to the catcher for a 2-3 putout? Yikes!

Oregon State still won, though, 4-3. My brackets still have a feeble pulse.

Which of the Super Regional winners did NOT dogpile?

Good question. I did not watch many of the other SR's, but from tweets it sounded like most teams dogpiled.

Bad news boys! Can't dogpile until the final out in Omaha. Didn't your coach teach you that?

The 8 teams are set. This is the first College World Series field without a team from Texas or Florida since 1990.

I saw that. He went head first on that one and he was stopped dead in his tracks with his hand about 9 inches shy of the plate. The Oregon State catcher didn't budge.

In one of the worst played defensive ball games I have seen in quite some time. I think 6 of the 9 runs scored were unearned.

So #1, #3 and #4 National Seeds are in Omaha and 2-5-6-7-8 didn't make it (with only #8 (Oregon) failing to make the Super Regional). Very spotty performance by the committee at this point. Hard to believe that four of the seven Super Regionals were won by the visiting teams (and really five of eight if you count our victory over Oregon).

RE: Other Super Regional Action
OTOH, all eight teams in Omaha were 1 seeds and hosts of the opening sets of regionals. I doubt anyone can say Vanderbilt or Fullerton weren't deserving of a national seed. Oregon was overrated a tad, and the ACC was overrated as usual. I don't think the committee did that bad of a job outside of not inviting a few teams that deserved an at-large instead of teams like Florida and maybe inviting too many Sun Belt teams? Virginia Tech was a reach for a 1 seed too.
