It stinks that the timing of Monday's "if necessary" game will not be determined until after Game 2. Means those of us here in Raleigh will not be able to arrange for the possible extra day (and change airfare) until late Sunday...and it may already be too late to change flights.

Walt:
The Tropical Storm has flight schedules screwed up all along the East Coast. It shouldn't be too hard to reschedule a flight with no change fees.

Unless your outbound was impacted by weather, it is unlikely that they will let you change for free (assuming the weather clears up by the return). At least, in my experience.

This is not the case in my experience. Generally there's a weather waiver issued allowing for fee-free changes of flights within 2-3 days of the storm in the affected area. The reason to allow it is that they'll still be trying to clear their backlog of people whose flights are cxled. Check the airline's twitter feed to see if they've issued a waiver. That said, if you want to take advantage, do so now, don't wait until later.

Fair enough. Haven't seen a weather waiver issued yet.

And yes, as WMD says - being a elite member of the FF program helps a lot.

Not with American. I'm executive platinum and they still ding me when they can (e.g., when I book the non-refundable, super-economy fair, and then upgrade).

Well there's your problem... When an airline's looming merger with USAir is meant to improve the company, there's not much that can be said.
