RE: Strange Games In Your History
Ranked ecu @ uab. Our db and returned guy us sent to the hospital and they cut off his jersey. His xrays sre good and hes back in the second half but no jersey. They go into the stands and get his game jersey.from the previous year off his mother's back. He more or less then wins the game by himself with returns and interceptions

edited to add. I looked it up ecu was ranked 18 and brooks scored on a 91yrd interception and set up a second td with a 59yrd punt return

Weird game with some strange plays. Tulsa went for 2 three times with no success. This play explains itself.

Ugh.
I remember that play.
Dammit.

The strange thing is the ref missed a penalty on Tulsa on that play, Tulsa had two players with the same number on the field at the same time. If that had been called and we dropped the pass we'd have another shot at it.

Yep, that's true.
Graham screwed up many things trying to be as tricky as possible to fool the opponent and screwing himself in the process.

I remember him running the wildcat 4 times in a row from the Arkansas 6 yard line after a power running game had driven him downfield with ease to put us at 6 needing the TD to win. Instead of sticking with a power game where we were dominating their DL he runs that damn wildcat and we lose.

He won us a lot of games but I am glad he is gone.

ND almost beat us doing the same thing you all did but their coach was the dumbazz that day and tried for the TD and point spread instead of positioning for the winning FG. Fortunately this time we intercepted it and sealed the win.

With roughly a minute left in the game, Towson was down by less than a touchdown, had no timeouts and was facing fourth and 29 from somewhere about their on 35 yard line. The quarterback was pressured and escaped to his right before throwing a prayer at his tight end about 30 yards down the field. The tight end went up and caught the ball with two ODU defenders all over him. They both fell down, and the tight end started down the right sideline with the safety in hot pursuit. He caught the tight end at about the 15, but instead of making the tackle, he tried to tomahawk the ball loose while hanging on and got dragged all the way into the endzone and Towson took the lead. To top it off, with time running out Heinicke wound up heaving a hail mary pass that was intercepted -- his only interception of the year!

It's not a game I like to remember, but it just won't go away!

Not to mention that this was all set up by a previous TD and onside kick. ODU led by 11 with less than two minutes to go.

2011 USM at ECU

ECU gets the ball first and scores on a 72 yard pass on the 2nd play of the game. USM goes 3 and out then punts and ECU gets the ball and is driving for another score when the strange starts:

USM gets an INT off of a deflected pass and returns in 97 yards for a TD. ECU gets the ball back, punts and USM returns it for a TD. ECU gets the ball back and goes to punt it again but USM blocks it and returns it for a TD...and all of this happened in the first 10 minutes of the game. USM only had offensive 3 plays to ECU's 28 in the first 12-13 minutes yet led 21-7

The USM offense finally scores in the 2nd quarter but the USM defense returns another INT just before the half for a TD to take a 38-14 halftime lead. ECU outgained USM 420-299 but USM won 48-28.

Final scoring tally:
USM offense - 2 td's
USM defense - 2 td's
USM special teams - 2 td's and 2 fg's

<snip>
Rice comes out and dominates Tech (35-7) in the 2nd half.
Tech wins it in OT with a FG. 41-38.

I was there for that. The OT loss was heartbreaking; but the Tech crowd was fun, as I recall.

The one game that stands out in my mind was the ecu game where in reality we had the game won and the last play of the game the ecu qb throws a td pass to tie or win, can't remember but that one hurt. I can't even remember the year. That's my way of coping, ha, ha.

UTEP 2007 "The Miracle in the Mine Shaft" 70 yards in 34 second to send it OT

The monsoon games against LT and Louisville... Both of those games sucked to be on the sidelines for but were very entertaining games... Especially the LT game cause it started at like 9pm or something like that and took forever for it to end
