Southwest Airlines to Raleigh
I have 2 Southwest Airlines standard awards (the old kind, not points) that I have to use/get rid of by the end of June that I would be more than happy to let a fellow Owl use for a reasonable price. PM me if interested. I obviously don't post much but I can provide good references.

Wish I had known a couple hours earlier. Already purchased my O'Hare - Raleigh/Durham tickets on American.

We are booked on SWA for Thursday morning non-stop and return Monday one stop no change via points. Also found the Double Tree Suites for $99 by the Research Triangle (16 mi from NC State).

Tiki, I'm still awaiting a response from Marc or Daniel regarding the team hotel, but I do know there is a DoubleTree a couple blocks from the NCSU campus. Why in the world be residing 16 miles away? Did you and Joanie get your tickets in the Rice block?

We like getting away from the action in the evenings (this DT is on a lake giving Joannie a nice running spot). Love staying out in West Omaha on Dodge Road. Yes we will be in the Rice section along with austinowl73.

Agree with West Omaha, as it's closer (much closer) to The Drover! See you guys on Friday afternoon.

Do they still run the shuttles from out there? Were the best way to go to Rosenblatt because of the parking, but I have not been to the new ballpark.

Nice that Omaha plans are back in the discussion. Now let's need those flights and hotels and tickers and rental cars.

Tiki-- just got word from Marc that you're at the team hotel. Unfortunately, they're already booked for the weekend (now that the team has blocked their rooms there).

RE: Southwest Airlines to Raleigh
Just got this from Marc Laney....

Quote:

For those of you who are travelling to RALEIGH:

The team hotel is the Embassy Suites RDU Raleigh/Cary, 201 Harrison Oaks Blvd, Cary, NC 27513 (main number: 919/677-1840)

BUT, they are oversold on Friday. They do have rooms available Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday if you are interested.

We have a courtesy block at the following nearby hotel for you:

Wingate by Wyndham State Arena Hotel Raleigh/Cary Hotel
6115 Corporate Ridge Road
Raleigh, NC 27607
(GPS: 510 Corporate Center Drive)
P: 919-809-8511
F: 919-809-8488

http://www.ncraleighhotel.com

Group Name: Rice University Parents/Fans Block

Group Code: RUPB

$89 with Breakfast and WiFi- plus applicable taxes

Number to Book: 919-809-8660-24 hours

Doak Stadium at NCSU is 3.9 miles from the hotel: http://goo.gl/maps/k3CsY map and directions link

The Embassy is now totally sold out for the weekend. Spoke to reservations at the Wingate by Wyndham...they're much closer to campus; whereas the team is staying by the airport (around 12 miles away).

We tried for that Embassy Suites right after the Oregon game but Friday was a no go and moved down the road a few miles to the Double Tree Suites. 15 miles to the campus isn't a big deal after negotiating the Gulf Fwy for every home Rice game!
