I know you're being sarcastic but during the last 5 years there is a degree of truth to what you said.

Democrat tax cheats got away with things you and I never would while the IRS went to work on Obamas enemy list.

I'm not ok with anyone doing it, but you seem to have other views.

Yes, Democrats are allowed to be corrupt and commit any crime they like.

Heh, here you are chastising people for not being upset when Republicans do it, while seemingly unbothered when a Democrat does it.

So you admit that this is corruption and a crime, but you don't want anything done about it. Why is that? When I don't "mind" corruption is when it doesn't exist. By that I mean, most of the complaints about things like KBR and other similar situations arise from a laziness within the government. By that I mean, when it puts out an RFP for services, it requires that the companies submitting bids be capable of providing ALL of the services required... and they can't be foreign owned... which pretty well eliminates all but the largest and most diverse of corporations already involved in doing similar things. Even amongst integrated oil companies, few US companies can do all that was required because a decent chunk of what was required wouldn't be necessary for a US oil company. FTR, Obama and Clinton got as much $$ from and gave as much work to most of those companies as Bush, but Republicans didn't whine about it when they did because there isn't an alternative and Dems kept quiet when it was THEIR guy doing it. Personally, I think the rules are wrong and should be changed, but obviously they aren't going to.

Feinstein's husband's owns a construction business that landed a nearly $1 trillion contract to build rail costing $35 million per mile. Now apparently he also owns a real-estate business that landed a contract to sell foreclosed FDIC properties and now the USPS properties.

Now, in complete fairness... The companies he owns are huge and are among the biggest and baddest boys on the block. CBRE is a name every one of us has likely seen on large commercial properties... you know, kinda like KBR and Halliburton... with the evidence being that the largest recipient of military contracts under Obama are the same guys as under Bush...

So which is it, Tom? I see you asking R's for their outrage over KBR... where is yours about this?

What I REALLY don't understand is how the left can embrace Feinstein and her husband and Kerry and his wife, but eschew Romney and others almost entirely based on wealth. I guess the same way Bush is a moron and Kerry smart, though they got virtually identical grades from the virtually identical classes from the same university.

Unless you think it is the government being so large and requiring so much of a company that it shuts out little guys and pretty much puts the money in the same few hands, while blaming those same people for the problem it causes.

Dude, you're just lost.

1. I never admitted that.
2. I and the other liberals here never chastised Romney just for being wealthy.

Lastly, I wasn't around here on this forum when the Cheney-KBR-Halliburton was at the forefront so I can't comment on what the resident cons said about it, so I won't speculate on it.

Try another red herring.

You used those very words to describe the actions. It was tongue in cheek anyway. That should have been obvious when you read me defending it as neither a crime nor corruption.

Quote:2. I and the other liberals here never chastised Romney just for being wealthy.

Wait... in another thread you implied using words like "almost" insulated you... oh well.

The complaint on here isn't that Feinstein's husband is "just" wealthy either... but the arguments are virtually the same. Wealthy people make lots of money. It's what they do. They are in positions to do things that MOST people aren't. Not all of the things they do work. A common complaint about Romney was the left positng comments and videos of people he laid off when his plans didn't work... forgetting completely that the whole reason Romney BOUGHT their company was because they were failing and about to be put out of a job. Just like CBRE does real multi-state commercial real-estate, buying failing companies is what Romney's company did... and some can't be saved and must be (or are worth more being) sold.

Quote:Lastly, I wasn't around here on this forum when the Cheney-KBR-Halliburton was at the forefront so I can't comment on what the resident cons said about it, so I won't speculate on it.

I wasn't either... Did I say "on here"? No. For someone so intent on making sure people don't say you said something you didn't, you sure do a lot of it yourself. I was talking about the general public and the media. Certainly you could and did read newspapers in the 2000's? Certainly you admit that there were R's and D's back then. Certainly you'd admit that the D's accused the R's of being "shady" in regard to Cheney-KBR-Halliburton. Here I am, throwing you a bone saying that CBRE is pretty much the only people who could do this using government rules and you trot out some trivial BS.

Try a stupid person. Won't fly with me.

Toms?

I know I'm fat, but I'm still one person. 03-wink

Is there any evidence that her husband got any special treatment and/or was any other party not given equal opportunity? If so, then yeah, I don't like it.

And I'm no fan of Feinstein, so don't even go there.

And for the record, while I was initally upset about the Halliburton-Cheney link, I have no real issue now as I realized that most of the stuff done by them could only be done by them. Although I still don't like the no-bid stuff, but it is what it is. My only current beef was/is due to all the money we continued to pour into KBR when they were doing shoddy work resulting in deaths of our troops.

Nice epic failure of a nearly two year old story. Pelosi's brother WAS NOT given $737 million as your bull**** article states.
Quote:Nancy Pelosi's brother-in-law is given $737m of taxpayers' money to build giant solar power plant in middle of the desert

And her brother stands to profit nothing from this:
Ron Pelosi's HUGE benefit

And BTW - The investment is doing rather nicely for Nevada so far:
Salt-Based Solar Thermal Power Plant Takes Shape In Nevada

Now'd be a good time to apologize for calling me a liar by posting a lie.

1. I read that load of BS about Pelosi's brother not getting money before I posted, and it's about as much twist as you can put on something. He obviously got money.

2. After all the times I've busted you out for being a liar and never once got an apology, I wouldn't apologize to you if I accidentally ran your dog over. I would do the happy dance on it.

Prove it.

Any of it.

Prove that her brother got money. Only a purposeful liar with a slanted agenda could say he read the stuff about her brother and STILL claim that "he obviously got money." By the way, this is what you typed and it's clearly not the truth. He got no money and the $737 figure is not even the amount of money the firm got! It's only the total amount authorized. Prove it or apoligize...if you have the stones that is. I won't hold my breath...lol

Without taking issue with the general sentiment... "nothing" isn't really true. His company has a 2% stake in the deal and he is a partner in the company. This is absolutely an inconsequential blip on the radar, but it didn't stop the left from attacking Romney on similar grounds.

As to chastising Romney for being wealthy... I'm the one who said it, and I didn't say YOU said it. I said the left chastised him "almost entirely based on wealth". Do you deny that the left spoke of him as a "rich" man? Do you deny that 90% of the things the left took him to task for his wealth and investments? (making money by selling companies, making money by closing factories, making money by conducting business the way wealthy people do it)

Rather than just admit that they did (as I did), you want to turn this into an "I never specifically said that" claim. Well, you support people who took advantage of the fact that other people did (without correction) while calling out supporters of other people who would like to take advantage of the same sort of mental gymnastics for the other team... and you take offense to being labeled a partican or hypocrite for those actions.
