That is a nice, relatively compact league. I could see some rivalries develop or continue to grow with this setup

I'm fairly certain you will see that list grow in the coming years. Lacrosse is a relatively low priced sports program to build up and you can do both Men's and Women's so Title IX is satisfied.

In particular, it wouldn't be surprising if Michigan State and Indiana added Lacrosse. Filling out the rest of the Eastern Division would keep travel costs down. Also, on the Women's side, the second team in Maryland is replaced by Northwestern on the north side of Chicago, and Michigan State likes playing in Chicago when they can.

Similarly, I wouldn't be surprised if there was Western-biased expansion of Big Ten Hockey over time.

Division 1 Lacrosse? No, they play MCLA intercollegiate club lacrosse. They are an inaugural Big Ten Hockey member next season, but its no accident that the three schools that will be playing in both sports in the Big Ten are That School Up North, the Buckeyes and Penn State ~ the three highest revenue schools in the Big Ten.

Minnesota is unlikely to add D1 men's lax:
Quote:“It would be very difficult for us to talk about adding sports, especially on the men’s side because of Title IX,” Teague (AD) said Monday, following the announcement that the Big Ten is adding Johns Hopkins as an affiliate member for men’s lacrosse only. “[It’s] extremely difficult, and right now it would be a non-starter.”

AFAIR, the NW Athletic Director said something similar when asked about the possibility of their starting a Men's Lacrosse program alongside their women's program ... punting it off to the longer term depending on how much the conference payout grew.

And AFAIU, Nebraska is building ice making facilities into its new arena, so if they look at their budget and see an opportunity to add a sport, it could well be ice hockey rather than lacrosse.

Note that this continues to create ripples in Lacrosse realignment, with the last three 2014/2015 members of the ECAC (the Lacrosse conference of the Buckeyes and That School Up North) still working on sorting out their new homes.
