It's everywhere. It's apparently unintended. Rice is working on the issue.

We will probably never know the real story, but the impression I have is that someone in Bristol CT was simply asleep at the switch -- perhaps literally. Thankfully, Rice and NCAA people (and presumably Oregon people too) were able to rattle the right cages to get it fixed quickly. That's actually a better situation than what sometimes happens in these cases, where some completely irrational "exclusivity" clause leads to a game being available only in the places that don't care about it.

I'm not sure if operator error is more or less maddening than technical glitch, but each is less maddening than Byzantine legal roadblock.

I'm sure that flowers and candy have been sent to Phil Knight's office begging for forgiveness.

I'd bet they would apologize to a "mainstream university."

Well, have they apologized to Oregon?

Probably discounted ad rates to Nike...just kidding but you don't think some form of apology would be good business?

Oh, I absolutely do. But this is ESPN we are talking about here. I don't expect good business policy from them.

RE: ESPN 3 Blackout WTF?
I went through the ESPN3 and ESPNU Twitter streams last night (which were all very regionals focused) ... no hint of an acknowledgment of a screw up - let alone an apology.
