Pretty much confirming what's already been known.

RE: CBS Sports/AP...B1G to the Pinstripe Bowl...
I guess if you are going to have bowls in New York and Detroit, the number of the reasonable choices are limited to Big Ten, ACC, MAC or AAC.

The Big Ten seems to want to have bowl pairings limited to other power5 conferences. So both the Detroit and New York pairings ended up being Big Ten-ACC matchups. Logical choices for backups would be the MAC for the Detroit bowl and the AAC for the New York bowl.

Personally, I would not mind if the Big Ten set up a bowl in Indianapolis in the last week in December. I could see many Big Ten fans making that drive in 1 day, stay 1 night and drive home the next day. This appeals to me a lot more than flying to an expensive New York, and sitting a cold baseball stadium.

Really, who else was it going to be? Makes perfect sense, IMHO.

If those leagues could work it out, I'd love to see them re-implement the Toronto Bowl. I'd much rather spend a few days in Toronto than Detroit. Toronto is a GREAT city - so much to see and do! It's like a cleaner, friendlier version of New York City. However the game was B1G vs. MAC and that's not big enough for such a big city.

As far as the ACC, it is very smart of them to line up as many driveable bowl games as possible. The next one should be the Military Bowl in DC (or preferably Annapolis).

What the ACC then needs to do is lose games in Shreveport, Boise, San Francisco, etc. I'd keep the Sun Bowl only because it has a great TV window and the locals there sell out the stadium without relying on much fan travel.

I might be one of the few that actually likes the Bowl Game in Shreveport...it somewhat historical and I like the old school bowls...really want to keep the Sun Bowl as well.

I think the plan is to keep both. Swofford has said they want 9-10 bowls. They have already expressed interest in holding to the Sun Bowl and the Indy Bowl is one of the few eastern bowls still not tied up. SEC vs ACC might work out there. If not, an Indy bowl ACC vs AAC would still be a decent 10th bowl tie.

An ACC/SEC/AAC would work....as glad as I am with my school & our future with the ACC...still a Part of the "BIG EAST" is still with me..UofL owes a lot to that league.

Quote:Starting in 2014, the Pinstripe Bowl is expected to be in a Big Ten three-bowl pool with the Kraft Fight Hunger and Gator/Music City to get the fifth through seventh selections from the conference.

The Pinstripe also is expected to be in an ACC four-bowl pool with the Belk, Sun and Gator/Music City to get the third through sixth selections from the league.

Wow...there is just not going to be anything or anyone left for the AAC champ to play. CUSA has the Big-10 lined up in HOD. MW has the Pac-10 lined up in Vegas. So, AAC is down to maybe a lingering #10 from a P-5. Barring that , its CUSA #2, MW #4, SunBelt #1, or MAC #1 (only available in the Detroit Lions Bowl occurs as planned). Might be the worst #1 bowl of the 10 conferneces.
