It's Memphis Tigers Coach Josh Pastner live at 325pm on the @EricHasseltine show 929fm 680am http://www.929espn.com #GOTIGERSGO

Josh at 28:30.
The importance of having the Griz in Town. Great asset for recruiting. Constant flow of Grizz players yes but many coaches and GMs from visiting teams come by to watch Tigers.

DJ in the draft. Promo. Sings his praises.

Incoming class. Great, versital, lots of offense potential, tough match ups due to size and athleticism. Still waiting on two to qualify. No names.

Memphis as a BB town. No place like it.

Home schedule. Best in the history of Tigers.
TV package. Best in the history of Tigers.

Awesome recap. I would rep you for the post if there were allowed.

We shall see. We know Louisville, Connecticut, Temple, Cincinnati, and Gonzaga are locked in for this season.

But for a few comparisons to prior home schedule opponents:
1983-84: Miss State, Mississippi, Oklahoma, VTech, Cincinnati, Louisville, Florida State
1984-85: Southern Cal, UCLA, VT, FSU, UC, UL
1985-86: Mississippi, Kansas, Missouri, VT, UC, FSU, UL
1986-87: UNLV, Oklahoma State, FSU, VT, UC, UL
1993-94: Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgetown, DePaul, UC, Marquette
2005-06: Gonzaga, Purdue, Texas, Tennessee, UAB
2007-08: Gonzaga, Georgetown, Arizona, Tennessee, UAB

Those are some fairly good home games. Keep in mind I'm not including Metro opponents from the mid 80's like Tulane or UAB. They were fairly tough back then but not up there with the Cards, Bearcats, or Hokies.

a mild point of order, but uab was not in the metro. they were sun belt until the great midwest was formed. louisville was always a leading team, but cincy fell on hard times between gale catlett and bob huggins. florida state with pat kennedy and southern miss with m.k. turk were much better teams during the majority of our years in the metro.

Thank you for posting. 04-cheers

Though the home schedule may be debatable as the best, unless we add another great home game or two, the TV schedule will absolutely be the best.

As a long time Tiger fanatic who doesn't live in Memphis, I appreciate that quite a lot.

Thanks for the reminder about UAB in the 80's....duh! So that would count as a nice OOC opponent.

And I'm no discounting the home schedule this year. The fact MEMPHIS has apparently earned the bid to host the first AAU tourney next March means the TIGERS could face SECOND home games with Cincy, Temple, UConn, or Louisville in the same season. Nice.
