Curiously, they seem to have been thoroughly scrubbed from existence. Shouldn't have linked directly from the fundraiser page.
Yeah, I remember seeing them.
My expectations for Big Luther have dropped precipitously.
If your expectations for the Alabama GOP were any higher than your expectations of the Alabama Democrats I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a competent political party ain't one

I had hopes for him because he was the new guy. You know? Out with the old idiots and thieves, in with the new idiots and thieves?
And I'm not your son.
I will say, as a general rule, if two candidates look pretty much the same, I always go with the one WITHOUT the JD from UA.
Like Big Luther.

My dear departed mother, bless her politically cynical heart, taught me this... if you were voting and you liked the incumbent and the job he had done, fine, vote for him. If you really didn't know much about the position and the politician holding it, her rule was to vote the new guy in.
The theory was that the new guy would not be wired into the system and feeding at the trough of corruption the way the incumbent was, and it would take him a while to learn the ropes.
Cynical as hell, but then I'm generally not idealistic when it comes to politicians.

I'm not sure how to do this with an Andy Griffith reference MB, sorry.
Jay-Z(Shawn Carter) is a famous musician/designer/sports agent/owner/entrepreneur. He is married to Beyonce.

The reference is from this song. I'm guessing none of you will listen for more than 10 seconds, but that's all you really need to hear where it comes from.

RE "Big Luther" - He and Drayton Nabors ran for state office in tandem with Bob Riley, attached at the coattail, when he ran for reelection to a second term as Governor. Both lived in Mountain Brook in Jeffco and lost while Riley cruised to victory. When "Big Luther" ran this past time, he carefully avoided being identified with Jeffco and gave his campaign address as Montgomery and won. Politicians are like any other businessman, they figure Barnum knew what he was talking about in reference to customers / voters. Have you seen evidence to the contrary?
