Broderick estimates there is $400 million in construction under way on campus right now..... That $400 million? Has nothing to do with athletics. It includes a new art building, a performing arts addition just down the street from Foreman Field and a systems research and academic building.

I agree, and shut up those folks who think there is nothing going on but athletics at ODU.

Still stuck at the $6 million mark on practice facility. I think it's safe to say football has significantly impacted basketball fund raising.

I don't think that is a safe assumption at all. If I'm not mistaken most, if not all of the six million dollars was raised after ODU started it's football program. If there has been a lull in giving toward the practice facility it coul be, IMO more of a reflection of the uncertainty of that program independent of football. i.e., the PR hit the program took from both the horrible season on court, and the very public downfall of it's most successful head coach ever. My guess is that one of the next athletic buildings for which ground will be broken will be the new basketball practice facility. I look for news on this project to come foward in July along with the new campus master plan.

So did I ... and to be honest I didn't even think about it being a real crane until I just read your post. For some absurd reason I was thinking Crane like Stork and they were bringing in babies... shrug, I hadn't had my coffee yet.

I used to have babies on the brain as well. Now all three of mine are really old babies.......
