As for UTEP fans not attending, an avge of 29,500 fans per game disagree.

At the end of each year, several publications come out with a top ten list of assistants who should get head coaching jobs. I think UTEP should go back to hiring those guys.

If you are happy with 29,500 per game that's fine.

All I know is that there was 50k for the first game and after that, I couldn't give my tickets away.

You said people didn't go. 29,500 says they did. You are spinning.

I'm not spinning it's just that you take everything that I say literally. Obviously I didn't mean that not one person goes to the games. I"m saying that their attendance numbers aren't where they should be for a division 1 school.

That list of coaches doesn't mean they are automatically winners. Otherwise, they'd all be headcoaches. If you want to hire a new coach every 24 months (with some not doing well, and potentially stuck with them for a while due to contractual terms), then good luck. I'm happy with a proven coach for an extended period. Again, you aren't making a good point, just silly debates without a firm way to back it up.

The school always takes a chance with an assistant but then there is also the chance that we land a good coach who wants to stay. Don Haskins did.

Tim Floyd is a good coach and UTEP will have good seasons with him. I just prefer we go after new guys because with them, there is always the chance of greatness. If Tim has a few great years, he will leave also.

Absolutely. Let's go with the Don Haskins model. Since he stayed at UTEP for 40 years, we should bet the bank on that happening again.

Shirley, you can't be serious! Wouldn't happen.

Full circle, Shirley.
