A month or so ago they had their little week-long expose about gangs in Toledo.

On Sunday's front page was an article talking about how domestic violence and homicides in Toledo. It starts out with, "This column is one in a series of commentaries this year by The Blah on violence in the Toledo area, and possible solutions." (I don't even want to hear the Blah's 'solutions', as it probably involves trashing Toledo & UT, and buying more copies of the Blah).

Now their main article for the day is Toledo's population going down by 1,600.


So my point is, why does the Blah always have to run negative pieces about the city? What are they trying to accomplish by doing that? Just keep tarnishing Toledo's reputation, Blah.

Some cities are experiencing growth.

The Blade just reports the news. What happens in Toledo happens and then the Blade reports about it. The Blade does some good things too like the animals at the Zoo, helping dogs get adopted, and some partnerships with Ut.

Moving away from Toledo and away from the Blade is the best thing i ever did.

Simple... in the era of Twitter and Tumblr The Blade is fighting for not only relevancy and but their very existence. So knowing that bad news sells, they'll do whatever it takes to survive. In fact, Buckeye Television is the only thing propping up the Block enterprise. Futurist also predict a dismal future of cable television, so those hoping for an end to the Blade may get their wish quicker than they anticipate.

And I feel like the only 'good' thing about Suckeye Cable is that 1.) they seem to be the cable provider for soooo many businesses/hotels/UT/etc. in Toledo, and 2.) they have BCSN, which a ton of people love having.

Toledo fights an uphill battle like most big cities up north...I always find it facinating when the Blah gives ink to our past mayors (Carty and Sleepy) like they did anything remotely postive for Toledo. They havent done it recently but I promise they will do it at least twice in the upcoming fall political cycle.

BCSN is a great idea. Wish I could get it because they cover a lot of HS sports that would be great to see.

what about the violence in the big ten schools? those cities arent doing much better
