In a game of tit for tat, I'd run some of you
morons in to the wall and watch your wheels
come off.

Thanks. I was beginning to feel like a moron.

I equate it to my girlfriend watching the NBA with me and she doesn't know who D-Wade is. To me, that seems unthinkable. To her...she just doesn't give a rats patootie.

My guess would be someone who doesn't watch people driving in a circle and tunes out anything related to cars driving in a circle.

I don't begrudge those who like watching cars drive in a circle. I just don't personally enjoy it.

I've probably watched a total of 5 NASCAR laps in my life and I knew who it was straightaway (no pun intended). Every sport has at least a few people who should be recognizable to sports fans regardless of whether or not they are a fan of that particular sport. He's one of those for racing.

especially considering all the advertising he's done. Coke, Wrangler, Budweiser, etc... He's been in tons of promos, commercials, and ad campaigns

You seems to be the motorsports guru on this board. Have you heard about any series coming back to run the oval track at MIR? (Nationwide, trucks, ASA, etc.)

None that i have heard of. The Rusty Wallace Driving experience is using the track for schools several weekend a year. But if any NASCAR series races on a track then it cannot be used for practice. The track makes a good deal of it's money by leasing it out for practice. Also since it is an IHRA sanctioned track we will not see any NHRA events again. Right now it is mostly drag racing and some SCCA/NASA events on the road course and track leasing for NASCAR teams.

I was told last year that an expanded road course that doesn't use the drag strip and maybe a new dirt track are on the wish list for the future.
