Of course you mean the 'Original Swamp', still you gotta give credit to Spurrier, he knows where to go when stealing original ideas. He must have talked to ELLIS WHO coaches. Jerry Stoval,'yea whenever we look for an original idea we simply take a fifty mile ride across the basin to see what those crazy Cajuns have come up with, and adopt it as OURS'.

I know Cajun fans have no issue with these picks (except maybe the one conference loss, I mean who could possibly beat UL 01-lauramac2 )

Anyway, I was just thinking of asking for fans to post there predictions for their specific school (W/L, score, attendance, etc...) for the season.

Georgia Southern VS: (9-2 overall, 7-1 SOCON)

Savannah St. : W, 49 - 3, ~22000 Home opener at night vs a weak school equals huge blowout and lots of drunk students in attendance.

St. Francis : W 63-0, ~18000, Another big win and night game for the Eagles, but due to the fact that no one knows who this team is attendance drops (hopefully not too much).

at Wofford: W 24-14, ~6000, To similar offenses grinding out a fast game with both defenses being stingy. Tough game against a team that is very disciplined. No atmosphere at this away game, GSU will likely have as many fans there as the home team.

Chatanooga: W 35-31, ~20000, This could be a tricky game for GSU. Chatty is starting to show consistant growth and has a good QB. They could pull an upset, but GSU holds onto the win. First home conference game gives a boost in attendance.

at Samford: W, 42-21, ~7000, Don't think this game should be to difficult for GSU on the road. Hope to see a solid performance and most of the kinks worked out of the system.

Citadel: W, 31-20, 21000, The military brats from Chucktown always give GSU a hard time and this will be no different. But Eagles limit mistakes and hold them to field goals a few times.

at App St: L, 28-31, ~35000 (appy math 05-nono), This will be a tough game and I would hope GSU pulls off the win at the rock again, but advantage has to go to App. This will be another big game for both teams 04-chairshot 05-mafia I'm sure there will be questionable catch or call that will drive GSU fans insane. 03-hissyfit

Furman: W, 48-14, ~23000(w/ win at App) or 19000(after loss), the Purple pansies are on a downward trend that coninues and GSU could be looking for blood after giving up a close one to App. GSU brings the pain and Furman takes the heat. 03-nutkick

Western Carolina: W, 56-17, ~21000. Another blowout against the cats. They simply stink and this year won't be any different. Homecoming boosts attendance.

at Elon: W, 34-17. Good performance from GSU, but nothing great. Just another win.

at Florida: L, 17-35. Typical of previous BCS matchups, GSU keeps it close for a 3 quarters, then the depth of the Gators (and some home cooking) gives them a nice cushion to coast in the 4th. 03-banghead
Would love this to be a win, just can't see it right now. Maybe UF will be down and GSU will be flying high and play lights out.

If we go 6-6 our coach is going to be on the hot seat big time. With Memphis, Idaho and UAPB on the OOC slate, 6 wins would be very disappointing with so many players returning this year.

This guy picks us to win 4 all season . .. We have Prairie View, Ga. St., U. S. Ala., & Idaho on our schedule . . . He sure didn't stick his neck out with his prediction . . . they'll be at least 1 "W" no one expected, and if our D is as improved as I'm hearing, possibly 2 . . .. at worst 5 Wins, at best 6 MHO . . .. GO CATS!

I don't get the stAte prediction either. based on talk here I would have thought they would be runner-up to UL (or maybe 3rd)

Tied for second gets you ranked 91st nationally...I guess what the SB did last season means nothing!

They must agree how I viewed Ark. St this upcoming season...

Assuming you only beat the teams below you on the list and some OOC, (you're 3rd, ULM has tie breaker over you in this situation), 91st seems about right. The sunbelt did a lot last season, but adding Texas State, Georgia State and having what still a new South Alabama program in the mix play into it somewhere. Can't really justify better than 91st when the people you are projected to beat aren't 91 material.

For the record, I'm not as ignorant to Texas State as most sports writers are. They will be good.

That is fine until you see some of the teams ranked ahead of you...For instance UK is 64th! Not guarenteeing we beat UK against this season but I think its a complete toss up and we have juast as good of a chance knocking off UK this season..

I need to see their rationale. I suspect it is lacking if they agree with you. We return a ton of talent.

I think texas state goes 5-7.

with wins over idaho, pva&m, georgia state, and narrow wins over south alabama and southern miss... attendance will be around 18k per game.

I won't be shocked if USA only wins three games, but I will be surprised. We are poised to make a big jump this year.

It might be, but regardless of what you return, there will be some challenges. New HC, New OC, New QB. Not sure how all of that will come together early on.

Plus having a 3rd head coach in 3 years will take its toll somewhere down the line.

Some ASU fans are starting to sound similar to UNT fans preseason last year. I might be wrong but I believe a major disappointment is coming for ASU fans in a few short months.

That is just wrong. I didn't even say we would win the conference and I am not sure we will but 6-6 is lowball considering we return our OL, all RBs, top WR and several of our best defensive players. Same DC and the schedule is not as hard.

The changing of head coaches has worked the two previous seasons without any hiccups so there is no reason to think it won't work again with the third one as long as he is a good coach. WKU fans better hope that changing coaches, OCs and QBs is not a negative.

THe one and only concern I have is replacing Aplin but I don't think the next guy has to be as good as he was for us to win 8 games.
