Yeah, it's hard to fathom tg4. He claims to be a MTSU fan but I don't recall his ever posting anything at all about MTSU athletics. He only posts smack about Memphis and I believe he's been banned from the Memphis and the AAC boards. If he's the guy I'm thinking of, he's a banker and a school board member in suburban Nashville--and well in his 50s. Seems strange to me for someone that age.

Depends on what you like in a city I guess.
I was born and raised in Memphis, spent two years in Nashville in the early 70s, and then spent 27 years in New Orleans.
I much preferred the early 70s Nashville when the town had more character and a sense of place than it does now. I was down there a couple of years ago and it seemed far more mainstrem plain vanilla and cookie-cutter than it used to be. In the early 70s, 1st and Broadway was hayseed central--and I mean that in a positive sense--and the lounges and clubs were real, not just tourist stuff.
But having spent most of my adult life in New Orleans--by far my favorite city of the three--I suppose I'm spoiled and prefer places like Memphis with quirkiness, uniqueness, and character more than most--traits that Memphis has in spades, and that I appreciate all the more as the US becomes increasingly homogenized. I just find Memphis a more interesting city than Nashville.
Memphis has a vibe that is resolutely opposed to the mainstream. It is what it is, and I like that. Others differ.
