When I wrestled for Martin back in the day at GB, I went from a D in english to an A in 9wks Freshman year.

We didn't wrestle for rings, trophies or medals we wrestled for pride and the wall. Coach didn't tell us to come to practice (club) (lifting) (team building time) (personal workout) upper classman made sure of that. Aim High, you said your grade went from a D to an A while you wrestled for coach. What do you attribute this improvement to?

Actually just wearing my warm up gear to class and having the teachers smell my knee pad everyday did that for me!!! Once you smell a sweaty knee pad you'd do anything. Pretty much from what I can remember Wayne Martin, Coach Martin and Frank Lipoli told a couple of us that wrestling was only going to take us so far but education was key to success. Frank Lipoli called daily to harass my father about keeping me focus, Wayne Martin who was our AD started study hall and kept weekly progress reports. Steve and Wayne Martin would just beat the shiiitt out of us at practice. It is the only sport where the coach can beat you still.
