Like I said in the OP, the scholarships for guys and girls is almost even, so it is a wash as far as scholarships go.

If the SEC got it going it only takes six teams to form a conference. So I would suggest Missouri, Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Georgia. South Carolina and Auburn could go for it if they wanted to do so. But I think those six schools might not have to recruit out of state as completely as the others would.

Those Tennessee lacrosse sticks could be sponsored by Jack Daniels and could be crafted from the old whisky barrels... Kentucky could be sponsored by Jim Beam the same way. Two of six is already solved.

I love it! Funny thing about Jack's Distillery in Lynchburg, TN... Some of the gift stores sell college merchandise knick knacks. It is about 1/4 UT, 1/2 Auburn, and 1/4 everybody else. Deep southern Middle Tennessee is Auburn country.

SEC Lacrosse
Don't be so quick to dismiss Alabama or Auburn - lacrosse is being played at a number of Birmingham and Huntsville area schools.

Oddly enough, Lynchburg, TN is in a dry county. They make the booze there, they just can't drink it there...

When I was 18 years old I visited some relatives in Norfork County Arkansas. We went to the town barn dance that night, and every 15 minutes the band would break and the refreshment stand sold half filled solo cups of 7 Up and Coke. I asked the guy what was up and he said..."You figure it out". Then a 10 year old told me he would get me the whiskey for 10 bucks a pint. I paid... Never forgot that...lol

I watched #7 Duke come back to beat #1 Syracuse today. It is a very fun game to watch. Lots of ladies in the stands too. That net cannot be too expensive. lol Schools can get athletics companies to sponsor the equipment and uniforms, etc.

I see they are playing schools like Illinois, Rice and Miami. Are these schools all playing at the club level? If so it shouldn't take too much of a push to boost them up. The problem though will be title 9. They'll have to duplicate for the women as well. Thanks for the pics and the info.

RE: SEC Lacrosse
JR,

Almost every major school participates in the MCLA, a governing organization for lacrosse clubs whose goal is to elevate the play and experience above the level of "beer league" and provide the full college experience for players.

In effect, MCLA teams are running themselves as an independent NCAA DIII league which follows all NCAA rules and eligibility requirements which does make the transition easier.

Michigan was a competitive MCLA club for years which helped them transition to NCAA very smoothly. They even kept several of the players and coaches for their inaugural season.

I'm not even trolling, just stating facts. ACC schools have signed GoR and if they leave the ACC they won't get TV money for almost a decade. Not worth it for them to move, same with B12.
