Actually why move to the CUSA, just jump right into the Big12. In fact GSU has it's eyes on the SEC. Dream big friend.
Is the Sunbelt the "ultimate" goal of GSU? No (sorry not trying to stir the pot), but we are happy to be here right now and will do our best to improve ourselves and the conference in the process. IF another conference that can actually offer a better option for GSU offers an invite, we'd probably take it too. But we know that is likely a long way off if ever. You may need to take the advice of our former A.D. and "scale back your dreams."
Who said Big XII? There are so many conversations going on right now between a few forward thinking schools and other non AQ conferences its silly. There are 2 other schools in the Belt right now working phones along with the Cajuns. Heck in two more years there may be a completely different conference available. I know more than most here. Doubt if you will. We'll see soon enough.
Enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend.

When I asked another UL fan what the ultimate conference goal was, they said Big12. If not the Big12 then who? What "new" conference would be better than the CUSA? What do you know or hear about such a conference? What schools could split and form this conference? You have me curious, can we come too?
I'm not trying to bash UL for trying to leave the SBC for greener pastures, but some of the fans seem to think they are already Big or SEC material.
Actually the WKU fans are really becoming annoying. Seems like every chance they make a dig or backhanded compliment about the SBC.
Is the money, bowls, and tv in the CUSA? YES, no argument. But with all the changes, will that be the case in 5-10 years? Maybe, maybe not.
Are the schools that left the SBC for the CUSA better than the schools moving up into the SBC from FCS? Eh, maybe. I'd like to see what happens on the field, but I don't see them being so much better because they have had a handful of years in the FBS. I hope we schedule a lot of CUSA schools and see what the actual teams have to say on the field.
ULM made a lot of noise last year with the win over Ark and the almost win at Auburn (and they did it with one of the lowest budgets in FBS). Does that make them better than UL? Just like App's win over UM got most of the nations'. But historically GSU is more consistent (excluding the 4 years of WTF
football) .
Maybe one day I'll be able to visit your school when GSU plays and you can show me what UL game day is all about.
p.s. unfortunately I have to work this weekend.
