More than likely be here till 2015. Not after that, though... CUSA is not the end all for us. Conversations are going on all over. We can bide our time for another 2 years. Especially with Broadway being here till then.

ULL and Ark St just missed their chance. With Tx St and Ga St getting another year to stabilize in FBS, they will pass you in the pecking order.

Gotta admit Z, you are confident that UL will eventually be in the Big12. How long do expect to be in the CUSA? Will the Big12 wait for you?
Actually why move to the CUSA, just jump right into the Big12. In fact GSU has it's eyes on the SEC. Dream big friend.

Is the Sunbelt the "ultimate" goal of GSU? No (sorry not trying to stir the pot), but we are happy to be here right now and will do our best to improve ourselves and the conference in the process. IF another conference that can actually offer a better option for GSU offers an invite, we'd probably take it too. But we know that is likely a long way off if ever. You may need to take the advice of our former A.D. and "scale back your dreams."

Cajuns are just going to have to accept that you are a small market team with a small budget in a below average size state that has 4 FBS teams. The fact you have been FBS for a while means nothing.

Who said Big XII? There are so many conversations going on right now between a few forward thinking schools and other non AQ conferences its silly. There are 2 other schools in the Belt right now working phones along with the Cajuns. Heck in two more years there may be a completely different conference available. I know more than most here. Doubt if you will. We'll see soon enough.

Enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend.

Work the phones all you want, but That does about as much good as the telemarketing calls I get at night. You have to bring a lot of value in the new payout system and ULL does not bring enough for CUSA to justify reducing the payout and tv split.

Your just going to have to get used to getting beat by Ga Southern.

When I asked another UL fan what the ultimate conference goal was, they said Big12. If not the Big12 then who? What "new" conference would be better than the CUSA? What do you know or hear about such a conference? What schools could split and form this conference? You have me curious, can we come too?

I'm not trying to bash UL for trying to leave the SBC for greener pastures, but some of the fans seem to think they are already Big or SEC material.

Actually the WKU fans are really becoming annoying. Seems like every chance they make a dig or backhanded compliment about the SBC.

Is the money, bowls, and tv in the CUSA? YES, no argument. But with all the changes, will that be the case in 5-10 years? Maybe, maybe not.

Are the schools that left the SBC for the CUSA better than the schools moving up into the SBC from FCS? Eh, maybe. I'd like to see what happens on the field, but I don't see them being so much better because they have had a handful of years in the FBS. I hope we schedule a lot of CUSA schools and see what the actual teams have to say on the field.
05-mafia

ULM made a lot of noise last year with the win over Ark and the almost win at Auburn (and they did it with one of the lowest budgets in FBS). Does that make them better than UL? Just like App's win over UM got most of the nations'. But historically GSU is more consistent (excluding the 4 years of WTF 03-banghead football) .

Maybe one day I'll be able to visit your school when GSU plays and you can show me what UL game day is all about. 04-cheers

p.s. unfortunately I have to work this weekend. 03-weeping

RE: who will the cusa pick?
First of all im not so sure when talking about these two conf in football that Conf USA is any better than the Sunbelt. From what I have seen over the last couple of years the SB has really improved. I think if things continue to go as they are and GSU and App come in and continue to grow then maybe the SB will be a better choice than Conf USA. I think Football wise App and GSU are better than JMU and ODU, and from what I have seen with Troys, Ark st, La Monroe and others getting better every year athletically and facility wise the SB may turn out to be a really good conference. Who knows, if SB teams continue to beat some good BCS teams the SB will be better recognized.

I would suggest you really don't know what UL brings to CUSA or what conversations are taking place. The reduction in payout is minimal when you do the math and can be made up in other areas.

Ga Southern Teachers College has yet to beat any FBS program, so I don't expect to see much from ChickenHawks cousin the Limping Eagles!

---One thing that UL clearly brings to any of the FBS conferences is great attendance---Consider in the last 2 years Football had a 30K average and brought 45K to the Dome----MBB had an almost 9K game----Softball one of the top attendances in the country---Baseball--One of the top 20 attendance records in the country---Even WBB had a sellout---All have got to admit that this is quite impressive with the only championship team in softball!!! Not many in the country can hang with us on that!!!

I know the Cajuns are attendance kings - it seems you are overstating 2012 home attendance for football. Is this incorrect?

IF another conference that can actually offer a better option for GSU offers an invite, we'd probably take it too. But we know that is likely a long way off if ever. You may need to take the advice of our former A.D. and "scale back your dreams."

I would suggest you really don't know what UL brings to CUSA or what conversations are taking place. The reduction in payout is minimal when you do the math and can be made up in other areas.

Ga Southern Teachers College has yet to beat any FBS program, so I don't expect to see much from ChickenHawks cousin the Limping Eagles!04-rock

Don't really see how being a Teacher's College at one point in our institution's history is supposed to be an insult. I mean if you are going to reach that far back in history at least call us The First District Agricultural and Mechanical School. We pride ourselves not only on our football team's humble begginings but the institution's as well.

I'll say again,THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!!!!!!

Yeah it kinda looks like A State has that one covered...

RE: who will the cusa pick?
Are those numbers correct? Are they actual attendance or tix sold? Just wondering. GSU always announces tix sold plus students (at least thats my impression). So sometimes the home side looks empty when they announce attendance of 18K+. They can't sell that seat and don't know if you showed up or not. I believe we are moving to a scanning system to get a more accurate count.

IF those numbers are correct, GSU is right up there with stAte and UL. App will have the highest numbers when they enter. With the expansion and hype of moving up I could easily see GSU adding 5K+ to attendance numbers. That would put us around the 25K+ per game. Hoping we have some good season and make further expansion quickly to push the numbers above 30K.
