NMCMS is a great little stadium, while RFK isn't much better than Legion Field.

Annapolis is a fun town with great food.

That would be a fun trip. I know who would be hosting the tailgate!

With the BCS ending and a new playoff format coming on line, I suspect most bowls are waiting to see how it all "shakes out" at the top before making long range contracts. 2013 and perhaps 2014 will likely be watershed seasons for postseason D1 football.

There is also realignment issues adding to the uncertainty of the mix.

I asked because I hopped over to the AAC board (big mistake) and they are in meltdown mode over bowl tie-ins. Looks like the AAC wants to target some CUSA bowl games.

well considering they're mostly exCUSA teams that's not too far of a reach

CUSA has done what you call "addition by subtraction".

CUSA needs to kick a$$ this season to keep all of its bowls...

All of the current bowl contracts expire Jan. 15, 2014. After that, everyone has to renegotiate, and many of the big conferences are doing that now.

I'll be surprised if CUSA has more than two bowl bids guaranteed after this coming season.

Another reason why the Power 5 won't go full force to a 9 game schedule without going to a 13 game regular season. You need 6 wins to be bowl eligible and a great many of the P5 get that by virtue of their weak non-conference scheduling.

I'll take Navy's stadium over RFK any day. The only question is will UAB's bowl game have a schedule conflict with Chattanooga's run in the FCS playoffs?
