ETSU only lost to MSU by 13 or so at home that year.

You're thinking of DeChellis' second or third game as coach back in 1996. It was at East Lansing.

Check this link Pitt. Final score was 53-86 in Johnson City. The media guide and statsheet also has this same score and has the game in Johnson City. I know it's not very East Tennessee of me claiming that the game was a much bigger blowout but 3 different sources have it as one.

RE: Adios Davidson....
You know, I want to thank you Bucster. My memory had that game in Johnson City as being much closer, perhaps because it was somewhat closer than the previous time the two teams had met in East Lansing in the aforementioned game I mentioned.

But why would you think that was one of ETSU's worst losses? I mean it wasn't anything that memorable (as I have proven) and I think the crowd was disappointing at only 5,000 or so, but worst losses in ETSU history?

ETSU finished 17-11 that year. It was their first winning record in a half decade.

Do you mean by the score or the actual impact on the program?

Well when talking about "worst losses" I automatically think of the margin of the loss, which is why I brought up the Michigan State game.

However, I have always agreed with you on the Belmont A-Sun championship loss in the dome. I do believe that loss was more devastating to the program than the MSU loss and so were the VCU and USC-Upstate home losses. And like I said the UNC game was before my time, until reading this post I never knew UNC had visited Johnson City

"Somewhat closer" lets see we lost 86-53 a 33 point margin
the prior year we lost up there 82-59 a 23 point margin.
Yeah 33 points a whole lot closer then 23.

But then again it is what I would expect with you and your awesome memories of games which have nothing to do with the actual facts of the games.

Uh, I was referencing the 1996 game. Mentioned it in a previous post. You know, like when I said "It was DeChellis' second or third game?"

ETSU scored (and I'm not going to waste the time to look it up) I think 47 points in that game. Want to say the score was 83-47.

Always fun to have another visit from our friend Rod Spin.

No, Bucster, that's legitimate. And thanks for the props on my comment on the Belmont game.

Why can't you be more like Bucster, Rod?

Uh, you said the previous time the two teams met, which was the year before, not two years before, so uh, that was uh your mistake.
Actually the 96 game was 83-45 a 37 point game which I guess is somewhat worse then 33 but not much. 4 whole points. But 33 is in a
whole different ballpark then 13 which is what you originally claimed. Difference between 33 or 37 points is bad memory the diffrence between
33 and 13 is pure spin on your part.

Ok, I'm jealous of Bucster. He gets thanks for pointing out one of Pitt's errors, but the rest of us get pilloried for doing the same thing. What's the deal? I guess I should be glad, however, 'cause if he thanked all of us every time we correct him, not much else would get posted on this board...

You should be jealous of Bucster. He's a knowledgeable poster who doesn't spin the truth.

Oh come on, Go. This board is filled with a bunch of pom pom wavers who would no sooner show skepticism about a coach's hire at ETSU than they would cut off their own heads.

These are the same people who responded to a tennis coach getting the AD's job with "He's a cool guy! I had him for a tennis class!"

So cut out the propaganda. Forty seven days and no finalists announced and a coach with this track record comes in?

Everyone is underwhelmed. To not ask questions, to not wonder why she would make such a move after her only winning season, to not ask why it took so long, would be to not fully analyze the coaching hire.

Which is what ETSU wants us to do.
What does it mean when I live in the dumbest area of the nation and "everyone" thinks the women's coach is underwhelming???

I don't know. You tell me Go.

Actually, don't. Because you're trying to spin the Ezell hire into something it isn't.

Now, I don't know. Maybe Ezell can breathe life into the program. Wouldn't say she couldn't. She did have a winning record at Belmont last year and personally I think with her good looks she might be able to attract some attention to the program.

But let's face facts. You and I both know she wasn't first on the list.

A few things:
1. Dave Mullins is NO LONGER the A.D. at ETSU (still feels good to say).
2. Bob McKillop is a tool.
3. Murry Bartow makes Kyle Petty look like a talented son.

And all this because I thought UNC came to Freedom Hall and beat our brains in years before VCU came in and blistered our butts in the dome?

Okay, Lover, I'll admit after 10 pages I don't really care anymore, but what do those three things have to do with anything?
