Big South Should invite UNC Pembroke
This school is a football independent on the North & South Carolina state line on I-95. About 6,000 students with a heavy Native American student body. They would need a little time to grow but could be another Western Carolina.
Considering the schools possibly leaving the Big South UNC Pembroke could be a good pick up.

They are a division II school. So they would have to go through a transition period moving up to division I. Kennesaw St is a division I school who is adding football for 2015. The Big South could consider both should they lose any current members (which right now looks like it will be VMI).

Yesterday, Kennesaw St joined the Big South as an associate football member starting in 2015 (their first year to actually field a team).
Tonight, in div II, UNC Pembroke upset #5 Winston Salem St U. A great win for their 7 year old football program.

Why not add West Liberty University. There are not any FCS level teams in the whole state of West Virginia. WLU also has a GREAT basketball program, which is where the FCS schools really make their money.
They have been to at least 4 Elite 8s in a row. Been to the Final Four 3 out of the last 4 years, and was the National Runner-Up this past season.
WLU has great facilities, especially now that they are in the process of building a new football stadium. They right now average about 1200-1500/game for basketball. That is with a D2 schedule. Imagine what they could do with getting to play schools such as Coastal Carolina.

Is West Liberty interested in moving up to FCS?

Not sure, but it would be hard for a school like West Liberty to turn that offer down.

One way or the other the BS should try anything to get more members (must have FB) to pad the membership so as not to lose the auto-bid ever again. But asking the Big South to think ahead is pointless.
