RE: Rice vs. Marshall (Friday Game #2)
Jordan gave up a two-out single, but no further damage (ground out, two fly outs). Jordan's job at this point is just to throw strikes, and let the defense do the rest. No freebies. Come on, offense, let's keep a good thing going...

And Marshall finally gives Blair a break and replaces him with their usual Sunday starter, Fr RHP Michael Taylor (11 starts, 3-5, 46.2 IP, 4.44 ERA, .256 BAA, 26 BBs, 7 HBP, 36 Ks), who has also had control issues at times...
Ratterree leadoff walk. Time to swing away and break this thing wide open against Marshall's second tier pitchers.
Hoelscher walked. Runners on 1B and 2B, no outs.
Aquino opposite field RBI single! 02-13-banana Runners on 1B and 2B, no outs.
Perrott successfully sac bunts the runners into scoring position with one out. (I guess The OG is using the opportunity to practice fundamentals!)
Byrd hit by pitch loads the bases with one out.
Fox grounds out to the P-- Shane thrown out at the plate. Bases loaded, two outs.
Stainback lined out to Rf. Tough luck.
We leave the bases loaded for the third consecutive inning. As good as our offense has been tonight, some things just don't change! :--)

Good guys lead 7-0 heading to the top of the fifth inning.

Hey, I'm certainly not complaining--not in the slightest--but how many LOB is that so far?? I can think of at least 3 innings where we've left the bases loaded, so that's at least 9 LOB. And we're only through 4 innings!! #ilovebreakingrecords

I want to lodge a complaint. We keep leaving the bases loaded. That is all.

The leadoff baserunner (HBP) attempts to steal 2B when down 7-0??? Talk about bad baseball.

I strongly recommend filing your complaint with Rice Owls Athletic Director, Rick Greenspan. He operates an innovative interactive forum on the world wide web (a.k.a. "www") called "Ask the AD." You won't be disappointed.

We must have some really good karma, because we are benefitting from a lot of fortuitous and not altogether likely events.

If by "we" you mean you and me, then yes, I agree; we have some really good karma. I'm going to attribute mine to all the unmentionable things I did on top of the 360 sculpture.

UH's Pruitt shuts down USM in T6. 9 outs left for the Coogs to put Rice's destiny back in our own hands. Going B6 at Houston; UH up 6-3!

RE: Rice vs. Marshall (Friday Game #2)
Jordan hits the leadoff batter (erased with a caught stealing) and gives up a two-out double, but escaped unscathed (CS, two ground outs). Keep throwing strikes, Jordan...and offense keep hitting!

Marshall going now to their 3rd and 4th tier, seldom-used pitchers: Fr LHP Zachary Shockley (5 app, 3.0 IP, 6.0 ERA, .308 BAA, 4 BBs, 2 HBP, 4 Ks)-- yet another wild man...but left-handed...
Stringer leadoff single. Man, if our leadoff hitters could be this productive every night! 03-cloud9
Stringer advanced to 2B on passed ball.
Cook struck out. Really rough night for Keenan.
Ratterree flied out to deep CF, but Stringer advanced to 3B. Two outs.
Hoelscher walked, with Stringer scoring on wild pitch. 02-13-banana We'll take it. Hey, we scored a run against a southpaw!!!
Aquino grounded out to SS.

Good guys lead 8-0 heading to the top of the sixth inning.

RE: Rice vs. Marshall (Friday Game #2)
UH's Pruitt throws 3 straight balls to USM's leadoff batter, then gets 2 strikes and a grounder to 3B. 1 down, T7.

The next Golden Eagle grounds out to 2B. 2 down.

Then Pruitt K's the next Eagle!! 3 up, 3 down. On to B7 for UH. Coogs leading 6-3; 6 outs to go!
