Also, plenty of casual fans (to answer Melky) in around NYC love watching the Cuse and the old Big East play at MSG because it was an event. Having Cuse/Notre Dame/Louisville/Duke/UNC as headliners will bring the Big Event Feel.

There is ZERO incentive for us to agree to that, and just remember that we need to agree to that.

I also love how Cuse fans and the ACC think that this is just happening because they really REALLY want it to happen. hahaha

MSG could have walked away and signed up with the ACC anytime between the announcement of the C7 to break away and MSG signing with the Big East in March. They didn't. They signed on for 13 years just 2 MONTHS AGO! Why oh why would they all of sudden just tear up the contract and invite a slew of lawsuits over this?

With all the other mid majors?

BTW, what ACC school will host this tournament?

Why not hold it in Chicago? Good basketball town that can play up the Michael Jordan/North Carolina/Bulls legacy. Great city. Notre Dame isn't far. Heck, Notre Dame has a lot stronger identity in Chicago than Syracuse has in NYC. And ND is less than 100 miles from Chicago, not the 250 miles that Syracuse is from NYC. Syracuse's location in relation to NYC is more like Louisville's relationship to Chicago. That should make Chicago perfect for the ACC.

Did St John's host the old Big East Tournament? I thought the conference hosted it? MSG isn't owned by SJU they rent it just like everyone else.

Chicago is a great idea...for the Big East. They actually have a school in the city. BTW, I'm not sure why an AAC fan has a dog in this fight?

Zero incentive? Of course there is"zero incentive" if the contract stays as is...but if it changes then it would be a workable solution if the BE was pushed out of the original slot. I'm not sure what will happen but the rumors are getting louder...we'll see.

So the Big East should hold their tournament, but the ACC to MSG is a good idea when they don't have a team within 200 miles??? 03-banghead

Midmajors hold their tournaments Friday-Monday. (It couldn't be done Sat-Mon because it needs 4 days.) I'd be shocked if the Big East made that concession, relegating themselves to the status of midmajor.

The rumors are getting louder only on message boards. Means nothing.

I think Syracuse fans really don't want to travel to Greensboro.

Yes, zero incentive to move for the ACC. If MSG wants to force them out they are facing a breach of contract lawsuit.

Do a basic google search, no one but espn published that story.

It is only breach of contract if it is indeed a breach. The Big East will have the tourney...if certain parameters are not met I predict it will be modified or cancelled. You really think the MSG folks will like a Friday semis in a half filled arena? Your best scenario is if SJU becomes a Top 10 program again...you need a local fanbase willing to scoop up tickets from losing teams.

Is this where you tell us how it's imminent and leave out how MSG passed up the opportunity to drop us and sign you? How about how the story is picking up steam except only espn is reporting it.

Only one of the two tournaments have had a bunch if empty seats, and it sure wasn't the big east tourny.

The Big East will have no trouble filling up the Garden. I have absolutely no worries about that. If that is MSG's benchmark, then we'll be there a long time.
