If you take out the front lower bleacher section and slightly overhang the grand stands...This could really be a great endzone structure for us without doing anything to the road making it even more expensive. True this is only a pipe dream but this could seriously add 8k to Huskie Stadium and close it off evenly.

Why would we add 8k of crappy and crammed end zone seats when we could easily add a second deck on the east side? South end zone seating is not in the plans for NIU.

Ya I would totally do the second deck on the East stands before this.

Anyways, what this could do is bring maximum capacity closer to 38k instead of 33k because of the bowl in the corners.

Again I know it a pie in the sky type thing but this is by far the best endzone concept that I have seen for our situation.

RE: Five Years!
If we are having a hard enough time getting people to come to our games now, how can we expect new fans to sit in the end zones? I wouldn't want to sit there.

This is with all the dream improvements including a better OOC schedule, athletics using marketing that works and the locals singing Kumbaya as they stream into Huskie Stadium!

This seems a bit like a downer post. Look at how far this program has come in the last 10 years!!! The Yordon, the Chessick, the Orange Bowl, 3 MACC appearances, FIVE in a row bowl games plus other bowl appearances...NATIONAL attention...

I think we've come a really long way and we will continue to keep moving ahead.
I love it. GO HUSKIES !!!

RE: Five Years!
I see the 2013 football season as crucial point in the Huskie timeline:

If we beat at least three of our OOC opponents, as well as getting the MAC Championship again, then I can see us continuing our forward momentum. The success from football will eventually trickle down into hoops, and we will likely be comparable to low-level AQ schools in all sports.

If we fail to beat Iowa and Purdue (and likely fail to get ranked as a result), then I can see us falling out of the picture in another five years; we will likely be at the same point we were a year ago. We will be seen as "not living up to the hype" in many's eyes.

Of course I want the former to happen, but I'd say it could go either way. I'll be behind the Huskies stronger than ever in 2013 for sure!
