Sounds like we'll get plenty of opportunities to see this year. Although I guess I'll have to get cable again for that to be possible... cancelled it recently.

Yup. If you have Apple TV and a fast wifi you can run the Madizone feed on your computer and mirror the desktop onto your big TV in the living room. Occasionally it hiccups, but generally the projection is pretty good. Not as nice as a high-def NBC Sports broadcast, but it'll do until JMU's on BTN or SNY.

I am sure it looks different in person but the fact remains that the purple on the field doesn't come close to matching the purple of the stadium. This leads me to an even larger frustration with JMU and our quality control...

Whenever I see our logo on TV or on sports websites, it always looks blue. Every team's jersey at JMU also appears to be a different purple. Furthermore, I have drawers of JMU shirts and literally I think I have every shade of purple imaginable. Why can JMU not control their colors any better? My uncle went to UVA...every piece of UVA crap he owns (clothes, tailgating gear, memorabilia, etc) is the exact same color of orange and blue. My brother went to ECU and every single ECU thing he owns is the exact same shade of color of purple and yellow (I refuse to admit their "yellow" as gold). I know there are other big time schools that never vary in the colors regardless of what brand the product is, etc.

All I want is for our colors to be purple and gold (not blue and gold) and that they are consistent. Maybe because I am a girl I care too much about this but its just something I have noticed lately.

For outdoor structures, I'm assuming that there's some degree of weathering that alters the original color over time. Doesn't mean that these weren't two different colors to begin with though....

As for the clothing, I agree, but I'm also thankful for the increased variety of places to buy JMU stuff. If that's just a symptom of growing pains, I'm ok with that. Hopefully someone will step up the QC now.

Yep. You're not alone. I've wondered for a while now when we went to blue and gold on some uni's instead of purple.

The first season after completing the renovations, the field was mostly the pre-renovation turf except for some new turf from the 30 yard line on into the endzone. The following season, 2012, we played on an entirely new turf giving us seven seasons. Is this the typical life of field turf? I really have no idea, just inquiring.

Nice to finally be able to bring the new brand to the field. This is how it's done and looks great.
I do agree with Shady, I hope it's a brighter green this time around.
