Quote:Granted at the time you were in the SWC that would have been better than say MWC, WAC, and your current home in CUSA but going from filling a 70K Stadium to barely looking good in a 47K arrange I'd have to ask.... WHAT HAPPENED?

What happened? It's called the NFL and being located in a city with plenty of pro sports and nearby BCS schools.

That and most common folk don't identify with rich private schools compared to the large state/city schools which is the reason why private schools like SMU, TCU, Rice, Tulsa, Tulane even Miami, Boston College, Northwestern and Vanderbilt struggle to attract the casual fan. Sure there's private schools who do great like USC, Notre Dame and BYU but those are the exceptions rather than the rule.

LOL, the vast majority of ECU have always been and still are very respectful to the Herd. No need to flip poop over one idiot comment. I for one hope the Pirates ravage the American for many years to come.

04-cheers I made the tripe up to Marshall for a game twice, visit the Memorial both times. It's a rivalry, but one of respect. Here or there both fan bases are welcoming of each other and tailgate to gather. I love going up to Huntington.

I hope Greenville burns to the ground.

How many exactly do you have on ignore ? From what I can tell there are maybe 20-30 ECU fans who post here period and a dozen or so on a regular basis so hardly a good sampling group especially when you are talking about lunatic fringe fans who take time to post on message boards. I like Marshall and always have. When I travel around CUSA the overwhelming majority of fans I run into and interact with are classy so I dismiss much of the crap I read on here from anonymous fans with handles.

I think UTEP's stadium is the most interesting. It must get very loud when the sound bounces off the hills.

I love the rivalry we have with ECU. I really hope we continue with some sort of series after 2013.

RE: Aerial View
1. I think Rice is my favorite. It's older, and not in perfect shape, but it's truly a giant of a golden era. Still pleasant to look at.

2. The environment of UTEP's stadium is fascinating to me. Very unique look, some history as well. Would love to visit.

3. ECU's stadium is made by their fans. Architecturally unremarkable from above but the fans give it a great appearance.

4. MTSU... not bad! I don't usually like the rectangular style, but the asymmetry makes it interesting here. Would visit.

5. UTSA's dome, no fans visible from the outside but structurally looks pretty cool. Belies the great gameday experience on the inside.

6. La Tech has one of my favorite small stadiums around. I love the "reverse" style of the stands (larger upper deck than lower). Sea of parking lot isn't a good look, but it happens. Would like to see in person.

7. UNT's Apogee is definitely smallish and the wing is silly, but you can tell that great care went into its construction (LEED, what, gold or platinum, right?). Nice. I will be there this Fall.

8. FAU stadium... the Apogee of Florida? Small, but new and relatively nice. Good design. I don't know.

9. Tulane is a polar opposite of ECU. Interesting stadium with lots of history, but hindered by a smaller fanbase. That is no disrespect to Tulane, my grandfather went there, it's just how it is. Would still visit. Dome in an urban environment / tourist destination city is very similar to UTSA's setup.

10. Southern Miss... hard to say. From an outsider's perspective, the best aspects of your stadium are the cool endzone complex and the high quality of play on the field (last season not withstanding). Seats look like they could use a power wash though.

11. The curvature and sun shades of WKU's stadium are certainly unusual, but not in a bad way. It seems nice enough but nothing in particular draws me to it. Would like to see a photo with fans.

12. Charlotte, your stadium is small-bones but the future potential is there. Your campus is so beautiful I almost don't care about any negatives with the stadium itself.

13. Marshall's stadium is like a mirror reflecting the state of the fanbase. There is no structure or anything visual that stands out. When the seats are full, it looks good. I cringe at how low attendance would look. I like the rectangular corridor of Huntington that your stadium / campus (?) is in.

14. Tulsa has a good program and it feels wrong to put them this low, but yeah. The stadium doesn't seem bad at all, it's just unremarkable. Would be better if you horseshoe'd / bowled one end. I may have a different opinion after visiting.

15. From what I can tell, FIU actually has a pretty unique one-level stadium, like a bigger Charlotte. But I just can't bring myself to be interested. Maybe a fan can show me what's good about it.

16. UAB: like Marshall (above), except older, bigger, and never full. I strongly support the on-campus stadium drive that you guys have been pushing.

17. Old Dominion, your curves are nice, but I'm put off by the huge endzone stand (student side). Reminds me of San Jose State except not bowled in.
