Recommendations for trip to Wrigley
Heading to Wrigley for the 1st time in Sept. for the Braves...driving up Friday, catching the game Saturday and heading home Sunday...

Recommendations for a hotel near Wrigley? Restaurants that I need to try? Would like to stay as close to Wrigley as possible (walking distance preferably) as I hear they gouge you on parking and its a pain to get in an out for a game. But also not looking to spend $500+ for a 2 night stay.

Last time I visited Chicago was as an 8th grader so my knowledge of the area is obviously behind the times.

Take a winter coat or at least a hoodie and shell. You can freeze your ass off in the dead of summer.

Stay downtown and take the L to the games. There are not any hotels near Wrigley.

Shop the hotels and call them direct. Don't be afraid to suggest that you only want to pay $100-$125 a night. If there is no big convention in town, you will probably be able to get that rate in many places.

There are so many great places to eat it is hard to pick one. I would suggest to ask the concierge in the hotel about local restaurants. When I lived there, we always went to places that were not the tourists spots unless I had customers that wanted to go to them. There is an abundance of small, great restaurants in Chicago. The food is great and deals are better!

For nightlife, there is a party wherever you end up. Don't worry about being close to the hotel as there will be a cab to flag down anywhere you go.

Enjoy.

You can probably get a nice hotel for $200 or a little more per night.
I always stay in the Gold Coast (part of River North) area. Search results for Sep. 20-22nd. http://www.hotels.com/search.do?destinat...rams.rooms[0].numberOfAdults=2&children[0]=0&hotelId=

Hilton Suites Chicago Magnificent Mile, $211
Crowne Plaza Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile, $207
Conrad Chicago, $220

Sofitel has rooms for $245

If you want to stay under $200 a night, search for rooms in the Loop.

RE: Recommendations for trip to Wrigley
Last year we did a chicago, wrigley getaway and booked a hotel through this site

Last Minute Travel

It was a incredibly nice hotel and the price was CHEAP!!!

They don't tell you the name of the hotel, but they tell you where it is (Magnificent Mile etc) and the amenities and they tell you how many "stars" and even link Trip Advisor star ratings sometimes.

We got a 4 star $250-$275 per night hotel room for about $110-$120.

No complaints - the place was great. I have used it a couple times since, same deal
