Rice Fee for HRS
UH looking to finalize games this football season. From the article ( http://www.chron.com/sports/cougars/arti...507328.php ):

The Nov. 29 season finale against SMU will be at Reliant Stadium. The location for the remaining two games - Memphis (Oct. 12) and Cincinnati (Nov. 23) - has been narrowed to Rice Stadium or BBVA Compass Stadium.

As part of the financial terms, UH will pay a minimum $160,000 per game to play at Reliant Stadium.

The rental for Rice Stadium is listed at $105,000 and BBVA Compass, home of the Dynamo of Major League Soccer, is approximately $130,000.

They would be stupid to pay more to go to BBVA Compass which costs more and leave some of the fans outside since it only seats about 20,000.

On the other hand, do we really want the highest-attendance game at Rice Stadium in 2013 to a UH home game?

Get the money. We can use it against that $10 MM we have to raise.

Agreed. Whatever $$ we can get will be helpful.

I do hope we play at Rice vs BBVA, but we would be leaving around 15-20K people out of the game.
