I don't know if it's true or not, but a couple of years later is when those kind of allegations came out about Cam Newton (Auburn/Ole Miss but SEC cheating philosophy).
I know it's a stretch to think Alabama would cheat, but I'll be damned if this statement which predated Cam Newton wasn't almost dead on. He likely doesn't have to cheat now that he has it rolling.
its funny when people throw rocks for cheating at other schools. there are only two kinds of college programs where ncaa cheating is concerned: the caught and the un-caught.

RE: Nick Saban on the future of college football
If they exclude UConn & SMU from their mini-NFL, I'll never watch another college football game again. I'll still support my schools, but I'll have absolutely zero interest in Alabama-Ohio State, or Florida-Oklahoma.
I'm a Patriot fan. I'll watch the NFL and be very content.

This maybe true, I think we can all agree that the SEC operates on an entirely differently level.
Also the problem with your statement is Alabama was caught, A LOT!!!!!!! To the point they should have likely been given the death penalty. They were slapped on the wrist multiple times.

I doubt they go 5/16 since there's not that amount of program value out there. There might be enough schools to go 5/14 as Sabin suggested. BYU, UConn, Cincinnati being among those. After these is starts getting difficult.

Also Boise will be in there IMO.

If they want to break away for the NCAA...I say call their bluff.
Nobody ever talks about the tax implications with this move. As this country goes down the road of more and more government debt...They we need to find more "things" to tax. Hell, if the NFL is getting looked at, these "elite" athletic schools will get looked at as soon as the break off.
Are these schools willing to have revenue's decrease by more than 40% every year just so they can play in their own league? Why change if you already dominate the landscape with built in advantages and you get to keep more money???

The PAC12 commish mentioned BSU and SDSU a while back as possible targets should expansion be necessary. If the Big12 wanted BYU they would've already been there. Their inability to play on Sundays is evidently an impasse. If the Big12 looks to expand I'd bet on them looking eat to assist WVU.

True --- I can see the Big12 taking one of the Florida schools (either USF or UCF) and UConn and Cincinnati plus one of the Texas schools (Houston or SMU).
