Aww, I feel bad for the ladies.

Not to hijack the thread but I have to say that I have noticed this about some of our cheerleaders and have seen several comments about them, do we have a reputation in this regard?

Maybe I am just becoming and old fart with lowered standards, but I think our cheerleaders are beautiful.

The cheerleaders don't change either - I'm pretty sure we've been redshirting and ended up with some fifth year seniors.

I'm in full agreement -- both as to being an old fart and as to thinking that our cheerleaders are lovely.

Getting rid of the girl who used to do clown make-up for the circus was a positive for the team. Things have been looking up the past couple of years.

Going into cusa our cheerleaders will need to step it up also. These schools go to competitions and place often among the best in the country. Right now I can't see our cheerleaders doing that. Did you watch some of the cheerleaders from other schools during the ncaa tournament?

There are not enough hot cheerleaders. My high school's squad had better talent. Damn shame too. The average ODU cheerleader isn't much more attractive than the average ODU female student. The dance team is slightly better; but I think it is that way at a lot of universities.

If you compare our cheer leading squad to say, southern miss's or east carolina's, we are not only not in the same ballpark, we aren't even playing the same sport.

I don't know what can be done about this either.

to be fair, you'll get girls that look like that in pretty much any school in florida. haha though there are pretty attractive cheerleaders elsewhere.

A lot of it is cultural. Throughout high schools in the South and California, the hottest girls are expected to get into cheerleading and it is a status symbol. This is not the case in VA anymore... even back in the '90s when I was in high school. I think ours compare pretty well with UVA, VT, VCU, GMU, WM etc. But yeah, they aren't the supermodels you see in FL, TX, So Cal, and the SEC. Personally, I'm interested in the basketball and football, and as long as the cheerleaders are pretty and cheerful, which I think they are, I'm good with it. I don't think it is some kind of problem that needs to be addressed. If you want to see bad, check out the cheerleaders at the PA and NJ schools.

There was also drama in the hiring of the person to run the "spirit teams" or whatever they're called.

I hear connections were more important.

I appreciate this part and it's correct!

So he reads the boards and the school is telling him we want it all. The revnue and the name. And he understands this is his chance to right the wrongs. Good for him. Most like any new man on the job get it done.
