RE: The future of the CR board
For all of you suggesting the board should stay the way it is or just be renamed...you ALSO need to be voting for the last option.

RE: The future of the CR board
The CR board is a major part of this site, and regulating it to a sub-forum would be detrimental to the site's growth.
IF you rename it, I think it's important to keep "Conference Realignment" in the title, and it'd be wise to keep that as the first thing in the title.
eg "Conference Realignment and General"

If this board is renamed and conference realignment blows up the owners of this site will look real foolish and may loose money.
Just saying...

Or, compromise with the other poll choices, and call it "Conference Realignment, Tin Foil, and Kung Fu".

RE: The future of the CR board
It seems to me that it's really a "Conference Realignment and College Sports Business Board" at this point. I agree with some of the others that to make it into just a general college football board is too broad and there are tons of those elsewhere. Most of those other boards have their place in talking about on-the-field issues, but this is a unique place on the Internet to discuss off-the-field issues. Thus, referencing Conference Realignment and College Sports Business (a bit broader but still focused upon how the playoff system works, bowl arrangements, TV contracts, etc.) might be the best way to go.

Just rename it National Sports Board or something like that. No subforums!
Let the market decide where it goes. Realignment will never go away but it would have a place here along with general topics of the day that cuts across more than one conference.

No, not everyone here is a football fan, I'm a bigger basketball fan than football, even though I hate both compared to Hockey, College Hockey (and Baseball) is where it is at.
Definitely right. Wrote that too quick (at work on a break). College sports is what I meant.

The owner of the site is some goof from Georgia Tech.

I could live with that too...

(wait for poll)
I think you will lose first time viewers if you rename it minus the term "realignment". However "NCAA Realignment and Breaking News Open Forum" might open it up to a bit broader audience until something else happens concretely with realignment in a couple of years.

A multitude of different topics exist than can easily be scanned within a couple of minutes.
People can post rumors and rumors of rumors without it offending the posters that want to discuss other things and get irritated.
I know not what others may vote, but seems would be best to leave it as it is.
This forum should always welcome discussion about FCS schools realigning/upgrading, etc...

An option for not renaming it should be included among the choices.

Got some ideas:
10) "The Dude Wishes He Was Creative As Us"
9) The Board of Conference Realignment and Business Discussion
8) "Yes, the ACC will finally align its divisions North and South"
7) Bazinga!
6) "We've Already Solved College Sports Realignment"
5) "The Place To Be"
4) The Gospel of Conference Realignment according to stever20
3) 4 Conferences, 20 teams each, and a cloud of dust
2) Loh-down Conference Realignment Talk
1) Conference Realignment and Collegiate Sports News

Doesn't need significant change. There are a lot of realignment related issues in addition to all the fallout all the way down the food chain. O'Bannon and NCAA stipends and NCAA restructuring are just a few.

Keep it. Realignment happens so often across Division I. That it might not happen across the Big 5 in FBS as often as it has the past four years is no reason to shutter the thing.
In basketball, I suspect that we've only just begun. Same for FCS.
And considering you have this rag-tag collection of schools from UConn to USF to Texas and Oklahoma calling itself a conference for a paltry payout, no, things are probably still very fluid.

@Cutter -- the fact that Cincinnati and UConn find themselves aligned with UCF and my alma mater suggests to me that realignment isn't over.
