Early Predictions for Football 2013
I went to the spring game two weeks ago and did not come away with any good feelings about several big areas of the team. Towson has not a single quarterback on the roster that could run the offense and even if they had Johnny U himself in the pocket the O line was awful. West could not buy a decent carry all day and this is a line that has everyone back. Without someone transferring in to play QB1 it could be back to the 3 win season reality for Towson. Besides QB1 and OL the kicking game was brutal. Soven could not buy a kick and now that Pepper has quit the team we have no one who can punt. The Defense looks OK, but there are a lot of holes to fill with Dangerfield and Beltre graduating along with Tucker and Morgan on the front.

Here are my predictions;

Aug 29 at UConn LOSS
- Loss to open the season. Get the check and come home. Lack of a QB makes this one a laugher.

Sep 07 at Holy Cross WIN
- We pick up a win and gain some confidence. Crusaders are awful.

Sep 14 Delaware State WIN
- We pick up a win in home opener and gain more confidence. Hornets are awful.

Sep 21 at North Carolina Central WIN
- third straight win thanks to laughable non conference schedule.

Sep 28 at Stony Brook LOSS
- Reality hits hard with loss to new CAA rival

Oct 05 New Hampshire WIN
- Biggest game of the year - make or break. Gotta think this will be a revenge game after the whooping the Tigers put on UNH last year in season finale. Win and you can perhaps have a shot. Lose and the season is done in week #2 of the conference schedule.

Oct 12 Villanova LOSS
- Tigers look for third straight win over Villanova. Wildcats are loaded. Could be 3rd CAA loss.

Oct 19 at Albany WIN
- This one is mental as if the Tigers have sone against UNH or Villanova, r maybe both, they roll. If Tigers have lost one of these games they could pack it in.

Oct 26 at Richmond LOSS
- Spiders are preseason favorite in the league and this is on the road.

Nov 02 Delaware WIN
- Home game. Hens have new coach. Dog fight.

Nov 16 at William and Mary WIN
- Tribe is terrible but this is on the road and would be 3rd straight win for Tigers over W&M.

Nov 23 James Madison LOSS
- Best talent in the league is at JMU with the most overrated coach. Tossup based on who wants it more based on season to date, that is likely JMU.

My best guess is 7-5 overall and 4-4 in the CAA. 3rd / 4th place finish in the league and just missing out on the playoffs. I could see 8-4 at best and 4-8 at worst. The lack of a QB1 is a killer for this team and the weak offensive line will look its talent grade without Ender's magic feet in the pocket to make up for them.

RE: Early Predictions for Football 2013
Nice take. I think that this could be the year that Towson makes a real run at the national championship. West is a junior and will be ready to chew nails. The defense is stacked with key returning players and some nice transfers. I could care less about kickers as they are a dime a dozen. Athens is a Senior QB and almost beat Maryland two years ago so I am OK with him calling the shots. I say we could run the table as UCONN is really bad. My prediction is 10-2 with a tough loss to Richmond on the road being the only CAA dropped game.
