RE: Guard Robert Brown transferring from Virginia Tech to UAB
I was merely point out saying we had a rather bad year without anything else is a bit unfair. You cannot expect any coach to come into a situation with half a roster in the late signing period and have much luck. Having watched most of the games last year, it is evident that Haase can coach. I think that will show this season.

Oh Hasse can coach and I am looking forward to seeing him coach when the talent we have is better then most of our opponents,or winning when we are picked to win..

RE: Guard Robert Brown transferring from Virginia Tech to UAB
Things I like about the new staff that (to me) indicate improvement:
We are in early May discussing who might "start" rather than who might even be on the team.
Our quality of recruits seems to be improved, and I like having them already signed.
I saw progress last season between the team in November and the team in March indicating good coaching.
The coach and his staff seemed to manage the team well without any signs of petulance or lack of self control. There were no "Bobby Knight moments" that I saw or heard about.
All in all, UAB seems to be on an upward track for the future.

But can he produce wins and take us to another level? I'm not saying he can't. I'm just saying that it has yet to be proven, and saying he can at this point is just a statement of faith.
Yeah, it's unproven in that he has not done it before.
OTOH, I look at the roster CJH inherited and what he did with it, how the season developed. He made adjustments. I particularly liked the way he stepped away from his system when we lost several straight games in January and tailored the offense to the players he had. I don't recall XCMD doing this with any success... or basically at all.
I was also impressed that even when we had a short roster he was willing to boot our best penetrating and athletic player when he could/would not meet the standards asked of him.
We'll know a lot more this time next year. Till then it's fodder for silly season wrangling and debate.
