I would think given the interest the topic has generated it would be quite a few. So, if I'm GTS maybe it's time to rotate some mods onto this board who aren't burned out on the subject. Conference boards and some of the other areas might be a good change of pace for some of your guys.
And by the way, Iowa State would be picked up by one of the power conferences should something happen to the Big 12. Someone will want to enhance their AAU profile and they actually draw quite well, especially when compared to some of the other prospects.
Maybe so Jr, but I don't think most of our Mods are burned out.
When you are running a business you want reps who promote the hot products and if you have folks who have done a great job but are getting bored you expand their areas. I hear a lot of weary comments pertaining to the subject. It is logical for many reasons that more movement will occur. I won't enumerate the reasons here because I have done so in other threads and many of the reasons pertain to factors extraneous to the conferences anyway. Just because you are tired of hearing about potentialities that are stressful doesn't mean they no longer exist.
And if this board wishes to grow, and all businesses should wish to do so, then we need some Big 10, PAC and SEC mods around here to facilitate conversations that ACC and Big 12 folks don't wish to participate in, and who are more familiar with the climate and issues surrounding those conferences.
The average SEC fan doesn't relate to Big East and former Big East issues and doesn't care about the animosities contained therein. And the average SEC fan gets sick of listening to all the petty jealousies espoused by the butt hurt fans of envious conferences. Most of the Big 10 excepted since they have to put up with it too. The PAC is a conference that I've enjoyed learning more about on this board and I hope that the few from the West coast who post here will continue to do so.
I've got nothing against ACC and Big 12 guys but since this is a realignment board and since those two conferences have sustained casualties in this process it is fair to assume that whichever becomes the weakest will likely suffer additional losses sometime in the not too distant future. Being able to discuss such objectively would be a reasonable atmosphere to expect on a realignment board.
I see your point. Never put that much thought into it from that aspect.

Also, If they don't desire to discuss it they have conference boards to go to. We don't have one that is operational. Neither does the Big 10. That's why I've been trying to get some of you guys to go to the SEC board to talk. It would especially be nice to get it going before the Fall. Take care. JR

I'm totally down to talk about recruiting and the National Tournament (football and basketball), and possible expansion of the season. Those are the real issues in front of our faces and NOT the Big XII falling apart and what could happen to Iowa St. in the process.
Recruiting is a real issue. National Tournaments are established so they aren't as big of an issue. However, who comprises the selection committee for football would count. 13 games won't happen before more expansion and certainly not before the creation of a new tier within the NCAA or a breakaway if they do not create one. The real issues will present themselves. What the board is really suffering from is the onset of Summer and no real news upon which to build better threads and the fact that people who have been through the ringer want a break and those who have not faced realignment brinkmanship are still eager to discuss, rehash, and speculate.

JR... I wouldn't say the CR Mods are burnt out per say. I used to mod this board on a regular basis w/ S11 until some help, and more help came along and I phased myself out. S11 appears to be fine.
Onto your 2nd post, I actually agree that having more 3rd Party Mods. Over the years this place been CUSA, Sun Belts, and Big East centered. Due to realignment it branched out to the ACC and Big XII fans having disputes over this/that, and the ripple effects of realignment disputes spilled out all over the place on this board. So yea I think 1 B1G and 1 SEC mod could do a lot of good and they'd have neutral eyes and also could help grow the board even more. I don't think there are enough PAC 12 folks on the board to have a mod rep from that conference.
Overall, I think that we could talk about the Bowl Realignment that is currently taking place and recruiting. Recruiting in itself is going to stir up some ish. But it'll help continue to grow this place to the point that the B1G and SEC boards are as active as any board on the site.

1 other note... While Brista is a Rutgers fan, Rutgers doesn't join the B1G for another year but he still is also the mod of the B1G forum. Still can say another B1G rep isn't a bad idea tho.

Concerning the Florida schools, note that Florida State really didn't come on the scene in athletics until they joined the Metro Conference in the 70's. Football was independent up until they joined the ACC in the early 90's. It is not like the Georgia/ Georgia Tech situation where Tech left the SEC or South Carolina/Clemson when USC left the ACC. Florida State famously had the invite to the SEC when Arkansas and South Carolina were admitted, but they decided to go to the ACC. The following Southern Conference wikipedia page is pretty informative. We think things are crazy now... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Conference
I think that is how South Carolina got into the SEC.
Yep. I shudder to think of what would've happened to us. Best case scenario we are independent and get in along with A&M, worst case we are doomed to play in the ACC

Yep. The limited exposure I have had with Brista has been positive as indeed it has with you. I've been trying to get a few folks to start taking some talk to the SEC board. We'll see. It would be a good thing to have it up and running before the Fall if it can be pulled off. I think there are enough of us now and there would be no particular reason to make it exclusive of others who want to join the conversation in a contributing kind of way.

Absolutely. I'm sure there are topics SEC fans would like to talk about w/out the worry of them getting hijacked into a pissing contest that has nothing to do w/ the SEC.
I'll start a check in thread over there right now... Any SEC fans that haven't made it there yet, the link is http://csnbbs.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=246

Actually, I'd rather him not close the forum down, but I agree with the sentiment.
Maybe the Forum Should be renamed?
"College Sports"
I think it is morphing into a general college sports forum anyways.
More like a "whose dick is bigger" contest but with TV contracts
Hey Bit...maybe were are onto something here with the TV thing. Let's call ESPN and see if they will bite on a lucrative digital contract for us.
JOOC, this isn't an oral sex joke, is it?
