Argh. We're imploding. After back-to-back, easy DP ball, and Ford throws it into the OF. 03-banghead

4-1 going to the top of the fifth. Let's get that run back and let's make sure this game is official.

Despite the little hiccup we had in B4, I'm enjoying the game. Good hitting..and Austin looks like he's got his good stuff today.

Owlvision working well for me..but the UAB camera angles are odd. One camera behind the plate, one in left center field and one (?) down the first base line. Nice to see the instant replays, but the cameras are not elevated at all and their angles are very flat. Consequently, it seems to miss a bit of the action.

Perrott with a sort of pop-up bunt, but the catcher has to field the ball and the firstbaseman can't cleanly field the ball with Perrott swiftly steaming up the line. Cook then advances the runners with a 1-4 sac bunt.

UAB removes the lefty starter with one out in the top of the fifth. There are runners on second and third. The Owls lead 4-1.

Tykl pinch hits with the righty reliever. He promptly pops up to the secondbaseman.

Rice strands two. Rice leads 4-1 going to the bottom of the 5th and it is almost an official game.

AK surrenders an unearned run on a throwing error, after back-to-back singles. Offense needs to keep the pedal to the metal; let's not fall asleep now.

Hoelscher leadoff, first pitch single.
Perrott reach on a popped up (but dropped) bunt attempt. E-4. Runners on 1B and 2B, no outs. No brainer bunt here-- let's execute.
Cook successfully bunts the runners into scoring position. One out.
Gotta put the ball in play here...
Pitching change-- Fr RHP Cory Eller (2-2, 17 app, 37.1 IP, 6.27 ERA, .283 BAA, 18 BBs, 10 HBP, 27 Ks)...
Teykl pinch hitting for Ewing (strange that The OG is going righty-lefty after Skyler's 2-2 day with a HR; shaking my head)...popped to 1B.
Stainback ground out to 2B.
11 hits, 2 HRs, 3 sac bunts, 1 error in 5 innings and we have but 4 runs, leaving 9 guys on base (6 in scoring position). Some things just don't change.

Good guy lead 4-1 heading to the bottom of the fifth inning.

What the heck happened to our infield defense??? First Ford allows an unearned run on a bad throw to 1B, and now Christian botches a ball by the leadoff hitter. Please let's not let UAB back into this game!

Unbelievable. We've got 11 hits and 2 HRs, but only 4 runs...and UAB now has 2 unearned runs on 3 hits, with a runner on 3B and no outs.

Too late.

And I'd love an explanation why The OG pinch hit Ewing in that situation? We needed a sac fly, and Skyler is much, MUCH more likely to deliver that than Teykl. Also, Skyler was 2-2 on the day. I can understand righty-lefty late in the game, but not in that situation, and not with a sub-par right-handed pitcher.
