A New Place to Visit Before the Game
New craft beer bar - 80 beers on tap and 300 different bottles - to open later this summer in U-Square. I think this is a very welcome addition to the area.

Looks awesome! Unfortunately that means it will be packed before games (I know I'm a debbie downer)

But maybe if the area can be saturated with decent places to hang out, drink, watch some games things will work themselves out. There's still Woody's, Mac's, and some other decent places. And lets not forget "The Grid."

I think there are a few other bars/restaurants going into the USquare development. I know I've heard that Keystone is opening up there. The new Adriatico's is great but it's tiny in there. There's definitely a need for more quality establishments in Clifton for sure.

For football we tailgate anyways. For basketball we generally end up at Macs as I love their bar food and their beer selection is damn good for that kind of place. Sometimes for hoops we head over to Catskeller because of their great beer prices.

RE: A New Place to Visit Before the Game
Somehow I think the article gets the number of bottled beers wrong...300 seems outrageous. Not complaining, but I think it's wrong.

I hope this trend in the Clifton area continues.

Back in the day that area was a destination for Friday and Saturday night partiers. Hopefully, this signals a return.

I don't know about the Brass Tap but there's a place out by where I work called World of Beer that has like 30-40 beers on tap and hundreds available out of the bottle.

Yeah the fridge in the pic to the left of the bar definitely has quite a selection of bottles in it.

Yardhouse at The Banks has 160 taps (how does one manage that?), but I don't think their bottled beer selection is anywhere close to 300.

I'd mention the offerings of **** and Bull in Hyde Park, but those dumbasses don't know what they're selling and they grossly overcharge for it.

160? That's insane. The place where they house all of the kegs must be massive!

Sounds like a great bachelor party. Everyone starts at the first tap and the first one to drain a glass at each one make it to the last tap wins.

And Thursday too, for that matter. Calhoun and McMillian streets used to be a real party scene in the late 80's. Then they raised the drinking age to 21 and the crowds disappeared.

RE: A New Place to Visit Before the Game
The old Brew Works (predecessor to Jillian's in Covington) had well over 300 bottled beers available. So, it's certainly possible.
