Is "*Includes taxable donation in ticket price" for the top 2 tiers of tickets worded correctly?....or have I lost my understanding of the English language?

HAHA...It makes sense to me. The top two ticket prices have a donation included.

....right, so should it say "*Includes tax deductible donation in ticket price"? ......or "*Includes nondeductible donation in ticket price"?

EndZone/General Admission - $75
Sideline - $115
Premium Sideline/Blue Chairbacks - $150 ($250 BRAA annual donation gives you the right to purchase 2 seats, $500 for 4, etc.)

I know that your number for the sideline seats of $115 is correct, Because that is what I paid for mine.

Well, the $150 for the Blue chairbacks is correct too! I just upgraded this year. Now if only someone can chime in on the end zone seats for confirmation 04-cheers

I think it is worded correctly, oldtiger... not all "donations" are tax deductible, and I think they were expressing that this particular one is not. So, similar to your second phrase, but more confusing. 03-wink

Agreed.

The only portion of the donation that is deductible is that amount for which you do not receive comparable value. I receive an annual statement from the university for the deductible amount of my donation, which the donation amount minus the "seating or other benefit value" that I gain from that donation.

As you stated, I just found the "taxable donation" phrase a little confusing. That amount simply remains as normal income when filing taxes.

I was probably mentally making something more complicated than it was.

RE: What's your season ticket prices?
All donations are tax deductible unless the recipient of the donation doesn't qualify. The wording is incorrect, otherwise, it would just say ticket price without mentioning a donation in the final price, example, the bottom 2 ticket prices.

If FAU athletics doesn't qualify for tax exempt status, like oldtiger said, it should read "non-tax deductible donation". the way it reads isyou're getting taxed for making a donation

RE: What's your season ticket prices?
my guess is the state and the city require fau to still charge sales tax on the full price of the ticket and donation

Mine were $125 last season, lower level on the 50, with a season parking pass to boot. I intend on purchasing the same seats again for this year, along with the extra price for a ticket to one of UAB's road games, I have yet to venture into enemy territory for a Blazers game, but that will change with this season. Be afraid, Vanderbilt!!! Be very afraid!!!
