Mike Waddell leaving Towson?
I just spoke to a friend in the athletic department who told me that Mike Waddell is actively pursuing other jobs. Apparently this is not a secret and has been widely known for sometime now. The part that shocked me was the caliber of jobs he has interviewed for seem below him. A development job at UNCW and a mid-level job at the ACC seem like major steps in the wrong direction. Can anyone fill me in on this situation? Does this have anything to do with the cutting of soccer and the baseball situation? I would really like to know the whole story.

Considering the success that we have had in football, mens hoops and now mens lacrosse under Wadell's leadership I would hope that he'd stay a long time. I graduated in 1988 and cannot remember the last time we had winning teams in all of these sports in the same year. Wadell got a contract extension last summer so I do not think he's going anywhere.

Good intelligence by Hokes Ghost. Do you have any idea about who the interim AD is going to be?

I talked to a friend on campus this morning and they told me that there was still no word from the President's office as to who the fill-in AD will be. Evidently the President was totally caught off guard by Waddell's departure and she has no idea what she wants to do, short term or long term. This could make for a long process in finding a new director.

Mike Harris should take over on the interim.
