SBN: A Ridiculously Early Season Forecast

Basically out of 1000 seasons according to their model...

NIU won an average of 10.59 regular season games.

Ohio is at 9.4 and BGSU is at 8.59

Actually they have Ohio St fairly low at 8.3.

None of the B1G is ranked in this top 25, which they mention.

I'm not quite sure what to call my " gorithms" which I use to forecast seasons but that data is plain crazy talk.01-wingedeagle

Like I often told my students about collecting, analyzing and interpreting data and stats:

Put a mans foot in a bucket of hot tar and the other foot on dry ice and take his body temperature to determine his condition and you may end up with a 98.6 but it really tells you nothing much.

BT teams more often than not beat each other up week after week making it even tuff on the annual heavy weights to consistently put up numbers like NIU the past several seasons.

How do you begin to factor in wins and losses when forecasting teams which are bowl ineligible or are on probations and have less to play for ?

I agree, its nuts...however it is complimentary of NIU and that is all that matters.
