This is what the game used to look like when there was no 3 point shot. Players actually learned ho to play 15 feet from the basket! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkQrtrlQYpI

And, the greatest college basketball player of all time: notice, no 3 point line and average 44 points per game for his career!

I assume your greatest college player of all time is Pistol Pete ( I cannot access youtube at work, damn that firewall!) I would have to disagree with you and say that the best player to ever play the college game was David Thompson. Now, if Pistol Pete had stayed in Raleigh after high school, I might agree with you... But, I do agree with the rest of your post.

David Thompson was great, but I would put Bill Walton, Lew Alcindor and Pete Maravich, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlin and probably a few more are ahead of him.

Will Andre Nation be the next Devon Moore?

Last Friday's USA Today also had an article on this issue. Rick Pitino says that college needs to change the way the game is officiated and that that would allow for more scoring. Will post it if I get a chance later.

You all can come up with all the reasons you want for why scoring is down, but the reason it is, is because of the 3 point line!

I didn't read the article but hilarious that Pitino would say that, his team fouls more than anyone with his aggresive full court press.
