CUSA meeting in Destin FL
I know harry is really good about telling us what is going on in these meetings. But I am hoping the Wood and JJ start bidding on the basketball tournament. We have one of the best basketball buildings in CUSA and we should use it. We could do both men and women in our building no problem. Women in the morning men in the afternoon and evening.

I don't care for Woody but as far as CUSA move he has gotten tthem to give us allot for this move. The tv schedule the games and the right to play for the championship. So I see this as a good request and possible. Utep won't leave any time soon so next year is out of the picture. But after that we could definitely host. We don't need the scop we have a pratice gym which has already hosted games and the ted. The WAC did both tournaments in one building.

Let's hope we get to host a tournament.

Having the practice gym done will be huge. It gives another two floors for teams to practice on and another set of locker rooms, which is very helpful in tournies.

Do you think if we bid for tourney it would be at the Ted or Scope? The Ted might be kind of small for a conference tourney.

They could hold the Women's Tourney at the TED and the Men's at Scope.

Mother of god, WHY? May ODU never return to Scope. Place is a dump. There was never a great atmosphere for basketball.

1. It holds more people.
2. It is closer to hotels and entertainment downtown.
3. It's a lot better then it was after the remodeling.
4. IT BEATS the Brown Dump by a mile.

FWIW

CUSA has shown they want 2 arenas for the men's and women's tournaments. Norfolk can't host until the MEAC contract is done (2016 at the earliest)

RE: CUSA meeting in Destin FL
the ted holds a bout 7600 which isnt that small considering:

1. as the teams lose they will go home
2. people wouldnt travel to odu or fans not like caa. its a drive.
3. norfolk alone is not on the 295 track.
4. i could see us hosting. other then a few schools most basketball games are played in a gym. utsa is a gym and the seats are close and only about 2k show up for a mens game. for women less then 75 people. lots of these schools are football programs and have small time basketball programs.

check the attendance for basketball programs and then weed out about 1k to 2k a game for season ticket holders and people who buy basketball tickets for football seating. its a truer number.

If the basektball tournament is in Norfolk I'll definitely be there.

I'm really hoping Charlotte is throwing its name out there for the tournament as well. We are a reasonable drive for ODU, UAB, MT, Marshall, and WKU fans. We are probably the most centrally located school in CUSA East.

San Antonio or Denton would be ideal for CUSA West schools.
