Obama on Obamacare today(nucking futs)
A huge chunk of it has already been implemented. And for the 85 to 90 percent of Americans who already have health insurance, they’re already experiencing most of the benefits of the Affordable Care Act even if they don’t know it. Their insurance is more secure. Insurance companies can’t drop them for bad reasons. Their kids are able to stay on their health insurance until they’re 26 years old. They’re getting free preventive care.

It's hard to believe clowns on here actually kneel to this dope

this guy honestly thinks we're all a bunch of dithering idiots. A large chunk has been implemented? They are still WRITING it. At 15,000 pages and counting fast.

Stacked up it's as tall as Yao Freaking Ming. This thing hasn't even been written or read yet, much less implemented.

And since when is a 26 yr old a friggin "kid"? No wonder a lot of todays yutes can't or won't go to work.

RE: Obama on Obamacare today(nucking futs)
and today another bastion of leftist leadership Harry Reid. You cannot make this **** up.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says he shares colleagues’ concerns that the Affordable Care Act could become a “train wreck” if it’s not implemented properly.

Reid warned that people will not be able to choose health insurance plans on government health exchanges if federal authorities lack the resources to set them up and educate the public.

“Max said unless we implement this properly it’s going to be a train wreck and I agree with him,” Reid said, echoing a warning delivered last month by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.).

Reid warned the federal government is not spending enough money to implement the law because of Republican opposition to ObamaCare.

“Here’s what we have now, we have the menu but we don’t have any way to get to the menu,” Reid said.

The shortage of funding to implement the law has forced President Obama to shift funds from other parts of the law.

“The president is taking money, I wish we had the money just to do this on its own but he’s agreed, he’s determined he’s going to take money from some of the other things that he feels are less important in the healthcare bill and put it on letting you and others know what’s in the bill,” Reid told a caller to the show.

So did I.
BTW, note that Obama can shift funds on his own for Obamacare but not air controllers.

RE: Obama on Obamacare today(nucking futs)
Sooo, this predictable train wreck is nearing it's train wreckedness and even the Dims are finally coming around to the inevitable. Somehow a bunch of yaahooos on a sports message board could see this years in advance (cause we live in the real world) yet our "best and brightest" couldn't.

So, what to do? Well in another easily predictable move, blame the Republicans and demand more money for it. This will be a great idea IF we can only do it "properly". Same claim as what's always used for Socialism, it's a great system, it's just never been done right.

Buckle up sports fans, the pain is yet to come.

Again, Obamacare/AHCA was supposed to _SAVE_ money, not require _more_ money to implement it.

Conservatives who had read the bill (the part that had been made available) warned everyone it wasn't going to be implementable as written, (even with the tax-mandate), but liberals just accused us of fear mongering. Now your own party leadership says the same thing and you act like it's a joke Robert.

I'm a direct beneficiary of the 26 years on plan law. It's wonderful. I would've been ****** at 22 without it. Tough job market makes getting health insurance difficult straight out of college. I worked my ass off. Your last comment makes me sound like a freeloader "No wonder a lot of todays yutes can't or won't go to work" and it disgusted me. You sounded like a privileged *******, or 75

It's neither here nor there for me, because the parent is still paying for it. Let whomever get on a plan that wants on. Employers cornering access to health insurance is all the govt.'s fault. The govt.'s answer? More govt.

Let a running club have a health plan tailored to their needs (less heart disease, more shin-splints). Let a group of young professionals get together and buy insurance together (the AARP does this in other markets for old folks). Random groups of employees make it difficult to get plans that are targeted at the groups needs, which leads to un-needed coverage and higher costs. It's all ridiculous. Let the market sort it out, not bureaucrats.

That's great. That's just great. So I'm the privileged one when I had to choose between buying my own insurance at 21, as a grown man incidentally, or quitting the rugby team I adored because REAL injury is a constant threat.

Point being, by 26 (!) anyone should have grown the eff up or maybe it's time mommy quit changing the sheets. Geeezus, really? Go make your own money, you burden your folks til you're nearly middle aged? I would have been embarrassed to have even asked by that time in my life.

Frankly, by 22 I'd hoped you had been ******. Maybe therein lies the problem?

Just out of curiosity, did you know that the insurance up to age 26 was actually a Republican idea? If I remember correctly, it was actually one of the few things that they actually liked in the ACA.

I know it is late so I may not be reading these posts correctly but is the word censor function on strike?

It might have been big in the political circles, Robert, but it was definitely one of the things that many conservative voters were opposed to.

@ 22 many of us are just graduating university into a job market with no jobs. Or the jobs that exist aren't full time (no HI). So the solution you have is to 'work harder' or sit uninsured, get hurt, and cost tax payers MORE money.

FWIW: I had 6 months of no HI without my parents before I landed a job which gave me full dental, eye care, and HI.

Actually the 26 year old provision, the end to pre-existing condition exclusion, the mandate (which is necessary if you eliminate the pre-existing condition exclusion), and the end to the lifetime cap were changes that a significant number of republicans, if not all, were onboard with. A truly bipartisan bill could have been passed with those four provisions. What's ironic is that those are about the only four provisions out of a 2,000 page bill that I've heard anyone on the left defend post-passage.
