Have these people ever been to a swimming pool? Watched television? Wow. You can see this and more on the Quad on the right days.

You've heard of the old joke about why fundamentalist Christians object to pre-marital sex? It's because they're afraid it might lead to dancing.

Here's a better one (involving a scantily clad young lady):

Billy Graham dies and reaches the Pearly Gates where St. Peter stops him and says he has to check his list. Graham says, "Don't you know who I am? You should have the whole committee here to greet me." Unmoved, St. Peter mutters, "Just a second...," as he continues to leaf through the list. Just then a petite young girl in a short dress, low top and heels saunters up and says, "Hiya Pete!" He looks up and smiles, "Good morning, Miss. Come right in," and he opens the gate.

Graham is incensed! He says, "What are you doing letting that little tart in before me, and greeting her so warmly?" St. Peter looks at him and says, "That girl drove a little red sports car, dodged in and out of traffic at twice the speed limit, squealed her tires around every corner, all while texting on her cell phone and putting on make-up."

Graham says, "Exactly. Why is she even here?"

St. Peter says, "Sir, she scared the Hell out of more people in her short life that you ever did."

LH, she didn't mention religion at all. Just as good a chance she is a member of the feminist left than the religious right.

Yeah I fail to see how it is indecent. Been to Hooters and that place is far from being indecent. Looks like Hooters, but with Kilts.

The stuff in the paper is only a part of the news coverage. There was an extended TV 3 story in yesterday's 6pm news where the woman interviewed was clutching her Bible. Make no mistake, this wasn't a feminist objection as much as it was one based on her faith.

Yep, you're correct in that there will be plenty of misplaced objections from multiple vantage points. I say if you don't like it, don't patronize the establishment.

Is it just me, or do you think that finals week of the spring semester is a weird time to open a Tilted Kilt in Harrisonburg?

Supposedly, Larry the Cable Guy is suppose to be in town sometime soon. At least according to a certain person I know who knows the owner of Tilted Kilt.

With tongue firmly placed in cheek, I make the following comment:

I object to this establishment for the exploitation of Scottish heritage! What next? They gonna let Gingers play football? They have no soul!!

Surprisingly, the tartan that the Tilted Kilt uses is one that they made up, that is registered in the official Scottish Register of Tartans:
http://195.153.34.11/tartanDetails.aspx?ref=10682

Here is what the "Tartans Authority" had to say about it:
".....It has also been included in the Tilted Kilt trade dress registration in the US Patent Office. This design is so close to Royal Stewart that it would never have been accepted had the Tartans Authority had any advisory role in the process......"
http://www.tartansauthority.com/tartan-f...-corporate

I've been to Scotland- the menu doesn't look anything close to authentic Scottish:
http://www.tiltedkilt.com/locations/harrisonburg/menu/

So you can have fake Scottish food while you look at fake titties....

Is this American pub fare food any good? How is the beer selection? Looking at the chicks with their tits hanging out is fine and dandy, but to go more than once the food and beer has to be decent.

In general, I've found the food at TK to be average at best. Beer selection and size is usually pretty good, assuming you like mainstream brews. Also, TK is generally a great place to watch sports--large quantities of TV's. Can't speak to the H-burg TK yet though.

Tilted Kilt is Scottish fare like Outback is Australian fare. Which is to say, it's American fare.

That said, the one I've visited (not the H'burg one) has pretty decent bar food for a day of watching football or something. Good wings, good burgers.

Breastaurant thread over on CS. General consensus was that Tilted Kilt was pretty good, and Hooters sucked (esp their food).

What Harrisonburg needs is a German restaurant with a biergarten. The could celebrate Oktoberfest right in the thick of football season.
