In a series tied 2-2 the winner of game 5 wins the series 84% of the time.

60% of the time, it works..... every time.

I was listening to Mike and Mike driving in and they had a guest on who declared Marc Gasol the best big man in the game right now.

They played a big game last night.

Great stuff.

Just saw that also. Barkley really ripped the Clips a new one. Shaq still has some work to do as a commentator.

He has work to do as a biped...

You have to give the Grizzlies credit.

After game one (disaster), the Grizzlies have been a completely different team. It's like they came with a completely different mindset in the 4th Q of game 2 that has carried over through the last 3.

I didn't know what to expect last night. Hoping for a win, but really expecting that letdown game. Glad I stayed up for the entire series and know I will hit a wall this afternoon - but it'll be worth it. We have to put our foot on their throats Friday. Don't even give them a glimpse of hope.

On TNT last night they were saying the same thing. Well, Barkley was. Shaq said he's good.

They also talked about Z-Bo and Gasol being the best front court tandem in the league.

No doubt. Pretty funny that the best big man in the game wasn't named to the all-star team this year. He's the defensive player of the year but when he wants to score he can in a multitude of ways. Cover him tight and he jukes right by you. Give him some room and he hits a jumper. Double-team him and he passes to the open man. Being a great free throw shooter for a big man is such a bonus too.

They make a run in the playoffs, I think Marc will get the recognition next season. He is probably the most versatile big man I have seen in a long time. Especially, one that can hit from 15-20 feet with ease.

Just imagine if we had a decent shooter and you had to account for him and Marc. The spacing in the middle would be amazing and allow you to play in or out with ease.

That was Bruce Bowen that said that. Greeny was saying Dwight was still the best big man and Bowen simply laughed at him. Bowen's big point was Dwight is sitting at home now, got ejected out of their last game early, is a cry baby, and drama king.

Gasol stands up for his teammates, plays great defense, isn't about himself, and can PLAY.

With the history of awful trades by the Grizz it's nice to finally be on the winning side with a couple:
- Marc for Pau

Coach Popovich, especially. I did notice he had class to congratulate both Zbo and Marc on the court in 2011, giving them a few words I'm assuming of congratulations, respect and encouragement. Gotta give him credit for that.

With the history of awful trades by the Grizz it's nice to finally be on the winning side with a couple:

- Prince for Rudy

I think the Marc for Pau was a draw. Pau got the Lakers over the hump for a couple of rings. Man, I remember being so pissed about the first one I demanded they route their parade through Beale Street.

I guess it's a victory though in that it developed into a draw. Who would've thought ...

I think the trade worked out great for Pau.

But I'm thinking from our perspective. Personally, I think Marc is a much better all-around player than his brother. He's younger, so he has more years left in his career. Marc's style of play fits the Grizzlies better than Pau's. I can't imagine Pau being a key component in grit-and-grind bball.

I would much rather have Marc than Pau.

Definitely a better player than Pau all-around. Pau is a more consistent scorer. Marc is certainly a better defender which it wouldn't take a lot to defend better than Pau.

Me too. He fits the tone and attitude of the community. He contradicts at least a couple of stereotypes and I think everyone identifies with that. He helps bridge racial divides that still linger, though they're reducing with each successive generation. This group has captured some of the same things that the 73 team did. The 73 was at a far more precarious time than 2011-now, so there are many differences as well.

But I just quibbled with the description of us "winning" that deal, I guess. We did great though, and I'm happy with where it led to.
